This photo was taken in 2007 at Karnak temple (Egypt. Africa). The Karnak temple complex, universally known only as Karnak, describes a vast conglomeration of ruined temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings. It is located near Luxor in Egypt. This was ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut (“The Most Selected of Places”), the main place of worship of the Theban Triad with Amun as its head, in the monumental city of Thebes. The complex retrieves its current name from the nearby and partly surrounding modern village of el-Karnak, some 2.5km north of Luxor. / The complex is a vast open-air museum and the largest ancient religious site in the world. It is probably the second most visited historical site in Egypt, second only to the Giza Pyramids near Cairo. It consists of four main parts (precincts) of which only one is accessible for tourists and the general public. This is the Precinct of Amun-Re, and this it is also the main part of the complex and by far the largest part. The term Karnak is often understood as being the Precinct of Amun-Re only, as this is the only part most visitors normally see. The three other parts, the Precinct of Montu, the Precinct of Mut and the Temple of Amenhotep IV (dismantled), are closed to the public. There also are a few smaller temples and sanctuaries located outside the enclosing walls of the four main parts, as well as several avenues of human and ram-headed sphinxes connecting the Precinct of Mut, the Precinct of Amon-Re, and Luxor Temple. / The key difference between Karnak and most of the other temples and sites in Egypt is the length of time over which it was developed and used. Construction work began in the 16th century BC. Approximately thirty pharaohs contributed to the buildings, enabling it to reach a size, complexity, and diversity not seen elsewhere. Few of the individual features of Karnak are unique, but the size and number of features are overwhelming. Another image from my Ladybird meeting place near Mt Burr, Limestone Coast, South Australia. Many of you who have visited before would have seen a range of images from this secret little place where these ladybirds congregated in their thousands. Recently I reported they had all been killed by poison spray laid by Local Government. I have been back and they are just starting to regenerate now with only small bunches in their tens surviving but they seem to be making a slow comeback. This image, shot with a Canon 400D – sigma 100 – 300 macro, is an old image I have been wanting to post for some time. Hopefully we will see them back in their glory like this in years to come.

‘Gold Hill’ Dorset.. thankfully there are places like this still left in England..and the ‘powers that be’ are looking after it and preserving for future generations…
I shot this on digital, which I’m now ashamed off, but there is no post production at least. That figure is my old flatmate, good friend, and occasional crazy project partner, Crispy DeVille, down in Sorrento somewhere. I think almost all of us jumped off but he was the only one who did it with any grace.
I would like to thank Richard ( justimagine ) for letting use his image Summers eve http://www.redbubble.com/people/justimagine/art/1475895-1-summers-eve Thanks so much mate hope you like it.
The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. Shot at Sunrise at Crosby beach at Merseyside on a day out shooting with fellow bubbler pal Steve Smith / Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by Antony Gormley. / Now permanently erected on Crosby Beach, England, it was due to be moved to New York, United States in November 2006, but there was a controversial proposal to retain the work at Crosby. It was recently stated in the local paper, the Crosby Herald, that they may stay for a decade, but at a meeting on 7 March 2007, Sefton Council accepted proposals that would allow the sculptures to be kept permanently at Crosby Beach. / The sculpture consists of 100 cast iron figures which face out to sea, spread over a 2 mile (3.2 km) stretch of the beach. Each figure is 189 cm tall (nearly 6 feet 2½ inches) and weighs around 650 kg (over 1400 lb). / In common with most of Gormley’s work, the figures are cast replicas of the artist’s own body. As the tides ebb and flow, the figures are revealed and submerged by the sea. The figures were cast by Joseph and Jesse Siddons Foundry in West Bromwich. / Another Place was first exhibited on the beach of Cuxhaven, Germany in 1997 and after that in Stavanger in Norway and De Panne in Belgium. / 5 shot HDR tonemapped image. / shot with a Nikon D300 and 18-70 mm lens. /
