I traveled through several tunnels in and around Pittsburgh, Pa. and don’t remember if this is the Squirrel Hill Tunnel or Fort Pitt Tunnel. / Since I took photos of all the tunnels we drove through I can’t be entirely positive but I’m 99% certain this is the Fort Pitt Tunnel (downtown Pittsburgh). No PhotoShop was used in this image except to bump the contrast a bit and crop out part of the windshield wipers. Before adding contrast the original image was more beige in color and the black ceiling had some “grid lines.” / Maybe someone from PA can definately identify it. I do know it is not the Liberty Tunnel (“Liberty Tubes” – as we used to call them). Equipment: / Nikon D200 / Nikor Lens 18-200mm Settings: / Auto Mode / ISO – 125 / Focal Length: 18mm / Exposure Time: 1/5 sec / F-Number: F/3.5 / No Flash Auto Vehicle Mode: / Headlights On / Approx. 50mph :-)

The Colonial Drive In Theatre was once found along Route 51 South of Pittsburgh. I was there for a follow up visit in August 07 and it looked as if the Theatre’s days were numbered. There were signs up advertising a new housing development to be located on the site. Another piece of history gone…

A picture of the city that causes one to reminisce about the old while looking at the new. I meant to make the picture look older, yet past the two bridges you can see a hazy looking PNC Park. The tint of gold with the black should appeal to fans of the Steelers, Penguins, and/or Pirates. Pittsburgh, PA

Photograph: SX-70 Time Zero Manipulation. Once a year each chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (A.S.M.P) holds their “Object Show”. The show really only has two rules, that the medium be photographic and that the object for the year be present in the photograph. The object in question the year I entered was an umbrella. This piece is the result of a collaboration between myself and my model, Damon Griffith of the Bullseal Consortium. The Bullseal Consortium is/was a performance arts groups in Pittsburgh that I was associated with in the mid to late 90’s. The group perhaps was best know for their “Eides of March March” parade through the South Side of Pittsburgh. Incidentally, we took “Best of Show” with this particular piece.

This decrepit little church once rested on the fringes of Pittsburgh’s Polish Hill. It was demolished not long after these images were taken. I used an Agfa B&W film with an ASA of around 25 so that I could do long exposures and get the motion blurs of the trees…the images were later sepia toned to enhance the other-worldly appearence. I managed to salvage a few of the arched window panes for use in possibly making some assembleges.
