  • When looking at this chaos of pipes, fittings, handles, boilers, bolts, nuts, wheels and gears one is amazed that this old locomotive used to run at all. So this Redfield Fractalius plugin is becoming addicting, it just seems that you can pull out so much more out of an otherwise “ordinary” image. I hope you all like this as well. As I look at this, I wonder how this would now look in HDR …. The possibilites are endless ….. What do you think Mr. Bermingham? Getting the itch to try this yet? Best viewed in large!!! • Special thanks to Daz Studio x marks the spot accessories, Fantasy Book, Morphing glasses, V3&M3 Skeleton and textures, the pipe was Purchased at Turbosquid. I tried to get this piece as realistic as possible. My way of dealing with my anxiety issues I suppose. Thanks for all of you comments I truly appreciate them.

  • A real oldie. This is in my days of working in pure pastel. The scene was at Acton Scott working farm years ago when we had summers. The painting is actually 15 years old now, I can’t believe it myself, but sometimes its nice just to chew on the chocolate box stuff to get a feel of where you have come from :-)

  • In 1284, while the town of Hamelin was suffering from a rat infestation, a man dressed in pie1 appeared, claiming to be a rat-catcher. He promised the townsmen a solution for their problem with the rats. The townsmen in turn promised to pay him for the removal of the rats. The man accepted, and thus played a musical pipe to lure the rats with a song into the Weser River, where all of them drowned. Despite his success, the people reneged on their promise and refused to pay the rat-catcher. The man left the town angrily, but returned some time later, seeking revenge. On Saint John and Paul’s day while the inhabitants were in church, he played his pipe yet again, this time attracting the children of Hamelin. One hundred and thirty boys and girls followed him out of the town, where they were lured into a cave and never seen again. Depending on the version, at most two children remained behind (one of whom was lame and could not follow quickly enough, the other one was deaf and followed the other children out of curiosity) who informed the villagers of what had happened when they came out of the church. Other versions (but not the traditional ones) claim that the Piper lured the children into the river and let them drown like the rats or led the children to a cave on Köppen Hill or Koppelberg Hill. Another version is that the Pied Piper hypnotized the children into following him the the top of Koppelberg Hill were he took them to a mystery land2 (outside of Hamelin) or a place called Koppenberg Mountain3 and returned them after payment or that he returned the children after the villagers paid several times the original amount of gold. for more info Wikipedia

  • Walking around Edinburgh with Chris Clark we heard the pipes and rushed up to the High Street to find the Pipes and Drums of Lothian & Borders Police leading a march followed by The Royal Company of Archers. Here you can see the Pipe Band as they pass by St. Giles Cathedral. The band is one of the world’s oldest pipe bands and was known for many years as the Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band. The band currently competes in grade 1 at Major Championships run by the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Society as well as local highland games and Lothian and Borders branch contests. The band has travelled extensively and has in the past taken part in many high profile events and shows such as the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, both at Edinburgh Castle and more recently in Sydney Australia, as well as the Halifax International Tattoo, Nova Scotia, Estes Park Tattoo, Colorado and the Danish Military Tattoo in Herning, Denmark.
