Pink winter

  • The Wife and I were driving towards a very big lake during a hard frozen landscape in the dead of winter. There was a cloud of frozen crystals coming up from the lake and the light was painting for us on the ice crystals. I would have loved to make the colors deeper on the prism but it would take away from the sky..

  • Captured in the ghost town of Como, Colorado…..this Horse and many others like him, have had a really hard winter. The town was cut off from supplies for over 6 weeks, and when I was up that way I wanted to make sure the Horses were ok…and to my pleasure they were. / They are working horses, an icon of the American West, ridden by Cowboys and worked everyday. A disappearing icon at that, but one that will forever remain and legend and go down in history. See more on my website at jdebordphoto.com —-John

  • Amazing that such a cold morning can seem to warm in a photograph, all because of color and light….needless to say I was freezing when I shot this and cold tripods usually don’t tend to warm your hands up well lol / Captured at Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado

  • A must to view larger!!!!We’ve had some really stunning sunsets lately and I just couldn’t resist this one, I was on my way home and had to find somewhere high up quickly to get this shot. My daughter phoned me and said I hope you’re taking a photo. I actually drove to a carpark behind a commercial building and took this over the rear wire fence. I now have a new fave spot if there’s a great sunset! Panoramics /

  • Lakelands in Lake Macquarie on a Winters afternoon. There is no snow in my part of Australia so it’s not a typical scene that people in the Northern Hemisphere or colder climates would associate with Winter. Photograph taken with a 6 MP Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500 and edited in Paint Shop Pro.

  • These pale peachy yellow Day Lilies from my garden in Toronto, Ont.Canada, are submerged by the Fallopia Japonica all summer long… they bloom beautifully beside the shrub, which provides great contrast with it’s splashy painted leaves…at the end of the day the sun is just kissing them with light…I have a huge variety of daylilies and have given them their own pages in my garden website….I thought I would share some with you.. unedited and as is / DayLily 2

  • A 20×29cm watercolour on Canson 300gsm watercolour paper using a limited pallet. First Snowfall was created by dropping paint onto wet paper and shaping the painting using my imagination to create this frosty snow scene. First Snowfall The snow falls gently all around / glistening ice drops fall without sound. / The trees reach up calling for more / The frosty landscape will sparkle for sure. Linda
