Dianthus is a genus of about 300 species of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae, native mainly to Europe and Asia, with a few species extending south to north Africa, and one species in arctic North America. Common names include carnation, pink and sweet william. The name Dianthus is from the Greek words dios (‘god’) and anthos (‘flower’), and was cited by the Greek botanist Theophrastus. / [From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia] Original photograph taken on the slopes of Monte Stivo: Lighter version: Also available as a card/wall art:
Watercolour, detailed. Botanical style with interpretation. Painting plants is for me a meditation on the beauty of the original plant and their creator and designer, God. They reflect in some way the beauty of His light, holiness and love.
Pencil + Photoshop Thank you carltron for uploading a picture! / Detail / /
Another version of the “Dreams” design. / This one has no background so the image of the girl is larger, with more color around the eyes. I also went over some of the lines using photoshop, making the image more crisp. Detail / I tried to use as much “print space” as possible :)
One more version. I rotated the image and added a few things to make it more “balanced.” Feedback would be appreciated :) Other versions /
