Looking out the entrance of a wind eroded hole in a large rock. Joshua Tree National Park, California.
The plates used for this collograph were all based on organic designs but they have been overlayed enough to give the organic rich feel while having to search for the design of fuschias and pine leaves. Printed on BFKRives 280gsm, off white Update! Original sold in the CASS exhibition in Darling Harbour in January – yeh!!
Made in Apophysis. Another Christmas offering. Now, I just hope that my family and friends buy them. LOL Thank you for the views and comments. Josette

Cephissus Falls, Pine Valley, Tasmania, Australia. / Pine Valley is located in the lower half of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania. / A still day is required to produce the creamy waterfall effect when combining leaves and branches into the image as well – a tiny amount of motion on the leaves would have prevented me being able to produce the result I desired. / To return here in Winter would reveal a deeper green to the moss, and likely, a greater water flow. Regardless, I am very happy with its composition and exposure and it is indeed one of my favourites. Update – I have printed this image at A2 size and it looked fantastic – indeed I sold that image and it will be enjoyed by the residents of an aged care facility here in Tasmania. Dimensions: 3872×2592 pixels. This is a 6 second exposure at f22, ISO 100, 18mm lens. Taken on a Nikon D200. You need at least a couple of seconds to really capture the soft feel of a waterfall. Too long a shutter speed and the results in the flowing water can be too soft and creamy, losing definition. If you like this, you’ll probably like / my other images. Acrylic painting. This painting was inspired by the lake that we visit in Northern California. The trees are so thick and there are layers and layers. I would love to work on more like this and get a better feel for the trees, but for now I enjoyed finding a way to show the beautiful pines as the caught a Moment of Sun. / / /
This extremely bitter winter has welcomed a new species of bird to our property. After some research I discovered this was a pine siskin – aka pine chirper. These birds forage in trees, shrubs and weeds. They mainly eat seeds, plant parts and some insects. In winter, they often feed in mixed flocks including American Goldfinches and redpolls. The name Siskin is derived from its sound or chirp. Thus, this bird’s common name is really “pine chirper” / • Pine Siskins are very social birds. They will build nests adjacent to each other, with only a few feet in between them. / • When eating from conifers, the Pine Siskin usually hangs upside down from the tips of the trees. This photo was taken on my property in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. / / Bird Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

Spent the weekend along the beautiful Snoma Coast. It rained almost the entire time so those sunsets I was hoping for did not happen. Did get some opportunity for fog shots though. This field was next to a house my daughter was staying in just acrss the road from the ocean.
