Found in the Otway Ranges in the waterfall areas of the rain forest, these little guy’s were growing in an allocated pine plantation area .

This is another view of the road that leads to my house…..or…deeper in the woods if you go the opposite way… The dirt road is naturally a rich reddish brown color..and although it complemented the color of the supple pines…I felt that presenting this image in a desaturated or black and white image would draw your eye along the path of the road more easily… / / I feel so very honored that Simon Mears has found t song lyrics to attach to this image!!! The original shiro and kuro were bears, recently they’ve become stoats, or possibly pine martens, I’m not sure, some such creature anyways. X3 Just trying to find a nice design for them here, this one’s probably a bit over the top but I kinda liked it.

This location at Mammoth Springs in Yellowstone National Park was really captivating as the evening light set off the colors of the orange and white terraces and the deep rich tones of the lodge pole pines. The remnants of trees are reported to be as much as 2000 years old but remain standing, preserved by the mineral deposits that flowed up from the hot interior of the earth which remains active from volcanoes that created this wonderland after erupting 600,000+ years ago. /

I took this on the way home after a Christmas Concert by the Big Rock Singers and just had to share it right away. We have had a dump of six to eight inches of heavy wet snow lasting all day, causing me to shovel several driveways several times today. However, the absolute beauty of freshly fallen snow mixed with blue Christmas lights makes up for any of the day’s toils. Hope you like it.

Wow, it was a wonderful winter wonderland today, over 8 inches actually. This is the scene in my front garden, that lamp sticks up out of a huge Juniper bush I’ve got growing there, but as you can see it’s just covered in snow. ;-) I love winter. This is a 3 layer HDR with added moon. The light is natural, I just switched on the garden lamp prior to shooting the photo. Snow was falling as I shot this and some other ones like it, I held a brolly over my camera and tripod! / Woohoo…winter is here!!
