  • I took this on the way home after a Christmas Concert by the Big Rock Singers and just had to share it right away. We have had a dump of six to eight inches of heavy wet snow lasting all day, causing me to shovel several driveways several times today. However, the absolute beauty of freshly fallen snow mixed with blue Christmas lights makes up for any of the day’s toils. Hope you like it.

  • Wow, it was a wonderful winter wonderland today, over 8 inches actually. This is the scene in my front garden, that lamp sticks up out of a huge Juniper bush I’ve got growing there, but as you can see it’s just covered in snow. ;-) I love winter. This is a 3 layer HDR with added moon. The light is natural, I just switched on the garden lamp prior to shooting the photo. Snow was falling as I shot this and some other ones like it, I held a brolly over my camera and tripod! / Woohoo…winter is here!!

  • On our way in to Lake Tahoe I had to come to a screeching halt so I could capture this photo. I had to tromp through snow up to my knees for quite a ways just to get the perfect photo. This photo was taken before the snow storms came! Nikon D80 / Lens 50-200mm

  • There was an ice storm a few weeks ago that covered all the trees in icy rain drops. The next day the pine tree in my backyard looked magical when the sun light it the drops… Shot in tungsten with white balance adjustments in Lightroom. Enjoy!

  • 19×25 pastel on Sennelier La Carte paper FEATURED IN C.O.R.E., FRIENDS OF RED BUBBLE, FIRST THINGS, THE PATCHWORK, AND THE SISTERHOOD / She has been sitting on my easel for the longest time. I finally got inspired to finish her. I made her a lot bigger than the others in the series, so that should appease her for me taking so long on her. / She is the Spirit of the North Wind. It is the wind of Winter and of death, but also of rebirth. She gives us the wisdom to overcome death and to know it is not the end. We must walk through the Northern gate at the end of this life and she will be the one to usher us through. Listen to cold Winter wind, and let her help you release your fears into the darkness of the night. Also from the Series

  • First light on the snow from Nov 12th. From the Bridgers, looking south toward the Gallatin Range around Bozeman, Montana.

  • You can tell I’m ready for snow – I’m digging out old pics!! Since I got my first good camera two years ago, I’ve been waiting for a really good blizzard to take awesome winter pics. This was one of the few decent snowfalls since I received my camera, pretty but not very deep. Taken 12/31/07 in the field beside my house – Clarks Valley, PA.
