Airport Cathedral, Jetlag, 2006 These four renaissance men triumph as musical champions, but their elusive character leaves them little room for labeling. Airport Cathedral’s freshest phenom, “Jetlag,” sports an infatuating groove that is cleansing and reviving. Jetlag surges a steady and appealing vibe that attracts a dense range of listeners, but no one is capable of stamping a stereotypical or modern musical epithet to Airport Cathedral’s authentic sound. Andy’s masterfully temperate timbre and harmonics gush through the mic—a musical love affair. Every aspect of this album complements itself—from the vocals to the smooth locomotives of the beating drum. Andy must also be aware of his ability to swoon listeners—when he recites in “Daggers”: “I just want to hear your voice”—which parallels my own perspective of his luring pipes. Jetlag continuously provides the perfect mood from track to track—it is steady and relatively mellow, but never emotionally harnessing, nor does it drag you down into whatever trendy state of depression some artists attempt to market as the new musical mode. All four young men seem especially experienced besides the fact that Jetlag is their debut album, as well as the most excellent compilation to represent a moderately “green” band in years. Airport Cathedral has, however, had some help—this album not only represents our four favorite boys’ musical expertise, but also includes outside influences such as David Broecker, James Mendenhall from The Prom, and Rosie Thomas representing Subpop Records. I weaned myself away from the internet for a little while – too much other stuff happening away from my treasured computer. But since I discovered Redbubble last weekend I cannot stop visiting, my imagination has been running riot for seven days, the artworks I have viewed are unbelievable and beautiful all at the same time. I get up in the morning and switch the computer on and type in a few keys and voila Redbubble is the first thing I see in the morning when I’m eating my breakfast and the last thing I see at night before my sleepy head hits the dreamy pillow, and no doubt countless visits in the middle for a “quick fix” to keep the adrenalin running smoothly. This morning I have five minutes to peek around the site before getting myself ready to go off on adventures for the day, but this is no ordinary adventure, today I’m off with camera in hand and about thirty school children aged six years old in tow on a nature day – how exciting is that? – ask me again upon my return, I’ll let you know. This morning Ellen ( Udonchow ) let me know that she had purchased a Teapot Pillow button at my Zazzle Shop (thanks again Ellen!!), and I noticed that I had another sale..one of my Halloween Bonnie cards!! Not only that, but I decided to check my other zazzle shop, Engelhaft , and was beyond surprised to see that I had sold 7 sticker sheets!! :D I am so happy right now! Thanks to the mystery buyers as well!
Hi All!! Yeap, i’ve been quiet after uploading Kenny by the Beach.. Eheh.. I’ve been working on trying to get my very own stall/cart/pushcart here Thanks to the ever helpful and caring and resourceful, Karin, i manage to get some numbers i can call, instead of just emailing whatever email i can find.. and finally this week, i called and managed to get into contact with some of them.. FINALLY!!! XD Now am working on taking pix of the things am going to sell at the booth, and cleaning up the pix.. makes me wish i have a mannequin to fit them on or a model or something.. i end up just laying them down on a big blue sarong and taking pic.. i think i can hear Ellen giggling now.. XD / then there’s some freelance project that’s coming in.. as much as i’d like to do more drawings, am afraid my wallet’s getting anorexia.. XD so i guess i need to start feeding it a bit.. hehe.. So yea, basically just wanna say, i’m really thankful for all the lovely responses i’ve been getting over at my Facebook page, with regards to my new profile picture there. So much so, i just worked on creating a print version and uploaded it to Zazzle yesterday.. and for the first time ever, SilentCries got a TBA!!!! : I was just writing a letter to Stuart of the “I need to change my life” vairety / : I really really do need to change my life! / And become a human being / Yes / You know, a “real boy” with a life / shhh / I’m serious / How are you doing? / asleep sounds good / I recently realized, with the help of Jehovah, something odd that I am doing and how it relates to my past / I know what you meant / I have big mounds of stuff in my room Crazy amounts of stuff, and much of it is good stuff Like, purses that all work and are nice looking, but, a whole lot of them and I don’t even use purses much at all. / I buy them because they are cheap, good quality, and will go with my clothes. / : I have lots of scarves that I never wear They just hang in my closet / And way too many pillows, and just all sorts of stuff / And I was praying about changing my life, sort of stuff / and it occurred to me that it’s like a little nest, a little barrier against the world / But, it’s also a cage / I need to change my life by removing the stuff, but, I also need to change the things that make me want to build that barrier in the first place / Well, I seem to have lost you, somewhere out there in the void.
