Taken about a year ago, right after I had a change in my medications. This has been my life saver for the past 6 years. The amount has tripled since I’ve taken this picture, but for the first time in 6 years, I’m finally able to start coming off of them. I’ve been on so many meds that I shake constantly, so I have to take anti-seizure meds to keep it from getting too bad. Though that may seem upsetting at first, I view it as a reality check (ironic seeing as most of these are for schizophrenia) that everything is always changing, our minds never stop, our bodies never stop, the world never stops. So as my medication changes, the world changes, and I, myself, change as well as my views and perception of reality. / But as far as the title, as I said earlier, it’s been a life saver. I never said anything about it bringing me happiness, it’s only made me sane enough to have the will to be happy. Anti-Depressants and Anti-Psychotics can never bring you happiness, you have to bring it upon yourself. All they can do is correct the imbalance of chemicals to get you to be able to be happy, but not be happy. And Over the past 6 years, soon to be 7, It’s taken me this entire time to realize that, but it also has given me a better outlook on my future. There are some medications I can never get off of, but I don’t let that keep me down, I use that to help me grow, and open my mind to what “sanity” and “reality” truely are.

Drugs are not the answer to anything. This world needs more thrills and less pills. feeling down? let off some steam in the great outdoors – works better than any drug. Feel like getting CRAZY? take up an adrenalin sport to get your rush. Need an escape? take yourself somewhere you’ve never been – push the limits and your mind will be in another space. THRILLS NOT PILLS!
one pill make you larger and one pill makes you small and the ones that mother gives you don’t do anything at all.

While in Clevedon, Nr Bristol England visiting relatives I was persuaded out the door by the hopeful orange tinge to the sky. I didn’t expect to much which is why I didn’t take my tripod. I wish I had but the results wern’t that bad after all. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 34mm, f/2.8, 1/320 sec, ISO 800. No filters used. Dust and scratches removed in photoshop, maybe I should not clean the sensor with my finger. Doh. Marazion, Cornwall UK or pretty close to it. I’m getting used to wet feet and sand in various places. An late evening attempt at long exposure. It was quite windy which picked up the waves quite a bit. Had I not dropped the camera with the tripod on the rocks it would have been a very successful evening. / Oh well, must make sure I don’t wear my high heals to the beach in future. :-) Canon 10D, 17-40mm at 22mm, f/22, 6 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Dust and scratches removed in photoshop. Inspired by igotmeacanon, I decided go to Rhosili, Wales and see the coastal shot of the derelict boat that he’d taken. Two slight problems with my idea. The first was a 2 hour trip to which actually took 5 hours and the other was a high tide. Had I been a little earlier I may have seen it., so, in between bouts of heavy rain and gusts of wind, which almost took me off the cliff, I took a few shots of the coast. I hope to go back and see the derelict boat one day. / If anyone is wondering, yes that’s me in the photo, I love my new timer. I hope you like it. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 24mm, f/16, 1/100 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Only my camera and the tripod. A vast amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. A contrast map and hue deference in photoshop. Getting low down and dirty with crystal skies and record breaking crowds at the Harvey Nichols Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. Bristol, UK. Although light and wind conditions for the first couple of days were O.K., the day I took this shot the conditions were perfect, very light wind, whisps of clouds and loads of Balloons. I even helped drag one down a hill and bag myself a free ride in the process. Yey. Canon 5D, 17-40mm at 17mm, f/5.6, 1/200 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Dust and scratches removed in photoshop. © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.
