I went gold prospecting with my youngest son out near Marble Bar in Western Australia’s North. The only gold I found was this dry spinifex grass in the late afternoon sunshine.

Mt Bruce is WA’s second highest mountain – 1235m above sea level (MtMeharry is only 10m higher) this was taken partway up, after the steepest sections. It was hot and with very little shade and thousands of flies, I pretty much stopped being interested in taking pics after this. This is actually a composite of about 10 photos from my trusty compact digital – with help from Photoshop’s photomerge feature. :)
