I have been trying for ages to get a shot of the pigeons in flight, today, i was rewarded. I just happened to be there when the fanciers turned up and proceeded to let them go. As i have said before, the fanciers in Spain colour the wings and tails with some sort of dye. Oliva, Spain. Kodak Easyshare C653. 15/1/09.

This tower was photographed at the other side looking up at it, standing on the steps leading down into the terraced gardens! / Rivington Pike is found near Winter Hill in Lancashire! It is worth the visit!

This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot, I think. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this.

From the Carnivalesque series – a little tee (Originally only available in white – since the quality of the image was much clearer. However I’m making other colours available as an experiment. And then with a thud to the back of my head came blackness. / Waking to find myself face down on the floor, I could hear the grating wheeze of the dogs laughter and the tinkling of broken glass falling from my back as I rose to my knees. I rubbed a tender spot at the base of my skull, and then my eyes. / Through a haze of dust and feathers the scene before me gradually came into focus. The frenzied attack on my host continued, and it was clear that despite his bravery, his efforts to fend of the relentless beasts had become futile. / However, at the very same moment his eyes had suggested a man resigned to his fate, with a swipe of his glove he was able to buy himself enough time to reach into his overcoat and pull out a large shiny object which he tossed into the air. / The object – a medal of the grandest order- fell at the feet of the sniggering hound. The dog looked down at the prize and breathed out a deep sigh of smug satisfaction. “Well…” gurgled his battle worn master, by now at the limits of his patience: / “DON’T JUST STAND THERE LIKE AN OVER GROWN FRICKIN GOOFBALL…D-O-O-O SOMETHING!!!!!”

The information says: “Built in 1910, the Pigeon Tower was an elaborate summerhouse and lookout with three storeys linked by a stone spiral staircase. Ornamental doves and pigeons were kept in adjacent dove cotes and lofts, whilst the Pigeon Tower was reputedly used by Lady Lever for a sewing room. / Extensive repair works have been undertaken to this building including the replacements of the floors in 1974 and in 2005 it was completely re-roofed.” / It is a fantastic place to visit!
