A reproduction of an oil painting of a lighthouse in California on a gloomy day.
Portrait of a young six-year old boy and his catch pigeon….soon to be a meal.
Shot with Canon T90; Kodak Film ISO 400 :c) / I placed the camera on the ground and had it on slow shutter speed. We pretended to have some breatcrumbs and waited for the pigeons to gather around us. Once they were there, my friend clapped loudly so they would sore. I pressed the shutter, right into the pigeons. / I hadn’t completely focused on the buildings, more on the pigeons in the foreground, meaning, the buildings aren’t tack sharp – in the beginning, this picture was more an accident, but now I actually think it works better that way as it adds to the seemingly chaotic motion of the birds :)
Pigeon Point Light Station is a lighthouse built in 1871 to guide ships on the Pacific coast of California.
This is an abstract look at the feathers of a special type of pigeon and the water droplets that landed on it when it stood near a waterfall feature. These are its actual colors…only the contrast/levels have been adjusted slightly.
This photo was taken with a Kodak Easyshare camera.
Knocked down by a passing car, this pigeon was lying in the road with people walking past without a second glance. In general, we have become so calous to the meaning of life, and through this image I hope to portray that! HDR process used on three images. Made some adjustments to lighting and selective color. Had to clone a bit to fix up two people that were walking by. I have been seeing pigeons around me a lot lately…..with all their beautiful colors and peaceful ways….they make me smile….. Pigeons are so in tune with the natural ways of the Earth that they never get lost…..they always know their way home by following their inner guidance. They teach us to navigate our lives in a balanced way and to listen closely to the voice of our hearts. Taken from my front yard, Estes Park, Colorado.

These pigeons took flight in Trafalgar Square, London, UK, when a lorry went past and honked his horn. They flew everywhere around our heads and then came back to land in the same position. The lorry driver must have laughed at the startled tourists and pigeons being caught unaware. This was taken on film and scanned to digital. I have added a layer of texture too.
Taken at Port el Kantoui, Tunisia. I am presuming this is a type of dove or pigeon, there were lots of them around.

About This Painting / I live underneath this rock – or more accurately, nearly underneath it. There is a small gut between my place and the rock, so if it ever decided to fall down, I am not in the immediate line of fire. I wouldn’t like my chances if it ever decided to erupt again, though. The rock is called Orotere which means Flying Pigeon. There’s one in the painting – the Kereru or native pigeon of New Zealand. See my other painting of the Kereru . Acrylic on canvas board.
