Gouche on Bockingford 150gsm fine grain watercolour paper. / This was a challenge. I wanted to create my own jigsaw puzzle. I studied other puzzles…the shapes of the pieces and came up with this. It was a test in patience…taught me to examine shapes and the spaces they left.

I make no appologies for any resemblance to Rob Hardy’s excellent shot.. This angle begged to be photographed, the fallen tree obscurred most views, both Rob and I headed straight for the spot, to be followed by Stu (Rocketman2007). / The water fall is hidden away on the North York Moors, in an area that I’m not quite sure we should’ve been, although we had found a website mentioning the path through the woods to the waterfall. WATERFALLS SET
I drew these fig trees near the Art gallery of NSW and close to the Boy Charleton pool. Sydney has lots of these trees in its many parks. I drew it in pencil from life.

This is a section of a tree trunk that has been carved and polished. All I have done is to crop, flip and duplicate the image to make a new pattern. Original digital photo (Sony Cybershot 4.1). Just handled in the Paint program.

This is Dolly Marie who came to visit me during lunch today. I have written her story and it is in my writing section here at Red Bubble. Dolly stops by almost daily for her lunch of nuts and fruit and for a little pat on the head. She’s my sweet buddy! FEATURED

My origami calendar I tried to fold a crane out of gummy candy, which came out far less successful than the candy wrapper folded crane. First I had to take a slice of gummy thin enough to fold, but not too thin that it would be too delicate to fold with; or stick to one another too easily while folding; hence getting ruined. Secondly the folding process could not be done continuously; I had to leave time between some folds to let it dry before proceeding, otherwise the gummy is just too sticky to work with. Third, the completed crane had the tendency to want to unfold and shrink, hence the stubbiness. This also made photo shooting difficult; I had to try to take the picture before the crane unfolded or contracted any further; the parts needed some pinching and stretching before the picture was taken. I was debating on whether to upload this or not, but hey it atleast kinda recognizable as a crane… well I liked the title :P This work has been featured in / Little Things To Make You Smile / The Sculptinators / Macro Untouched More Sample Origami:
This piece is primarily inspired (idea/composition/theme) by the song ‘CC Cowboys’, by Imperiet. A very good song, long live the old punk rock revolution. Secondly, it is an illustration of one of my musical love since I was eleven years old -the song ‘The Flesh Failures (Let the sun shine in)’, from HAIR -The Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Taking another step I took the theme text from the companion tune ‘What A Piece Of Work Is Man’ from the same musical; A sung version of William Shakespeare’s famous text from Hamlet.
