Just one sheet makes a big difference; / One sheet that can make over 2000 cranes. / Each crane a step closer to a better world; / Each piece a step closer to peace. Each square in the grid paper is 5×5mm; and to be exact, there were 2028 full squares in the paper When I was in grade 5 our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. Sadako Sasaki was infected with leukemia. She spent her days folding cranes and making wishes upon them; wishing for her health and for a more peaceful world (the quote above is my writing inspired by the story of the thousand paper cranes). I had difficulty photographing this; and am not fully satisfied with the end result, but I suppose this is the best I can do with my camera (I’m satisfied with the origami though!) I hope everyone likes the idea anyhow. For me it’s always more about the origami than the photography skills. This piece has been included among RB’s featured pages, and in the following groups: / Inspired Art / _Winner of The Challenge For a better idea of scale: / / More Sample Origami:
...a drop of water on the leaf of a weed in a garden of roses. He’s the Master Of Details, isn’t He? :-) Of the more than 160,000 photographs I’ve taken in the last two and a half years, this is the one that garners the most positive comments and the most admiration. I’ve always loved it but hadn’t know the depth of others’ enjoyment in it until I started showing it in prints and online. Here, it’s the shot I’ve taken with the most comments and the most ‘favouritings’. The very glory of what He does on such an incredibly small scale shows in this simple macro snapshot of a weed. If I had to choose a single photograph I’d call a “masterpiece”, this one or “magnolia” would tie for that title. All profit from the sale of this image is pledged to be donated to the church or pastor of the buyer’s choice. If no choice is specified, I will chose one and note it in my Red Bubble journal. (Please see comments to understand what happened, the complete details of what is planned to happen, and why it will happen, if you’d like to know.) AS FEATURED IN: Flowers in Macro, Macro Water Photography, Miniatures and Mammoths; Extreme Close-Ups, and the Globes, Spheres and Curves Group! “Yeah!” :-D

For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…

The “Conversation Piece” consists of 22 copper-bronze statues near The Groyne lighthouse at Littlehaven Beach, South Shields. Designed by Spanish artist Juan Munoz they have been a talking point for the last few years. Oddly, from a distance you can never be sure who is talking to who – human or statue!

Pencil drawing on paper. Changed to sepia tone in post. / / This is one piece out of my newest series, Perpetual Motion. Each drawing is drawn entirely with the numbers 1 – 12, marking the hours of the clock. There are no lines, no shading other than shading from the numbers. I call this style “Numberism” We’re constantly moving in one of four directions. Even if we choose to do nothing at all, we are still moving through time. Because of this, we can never go back to where we started. Every frame, there is a new “you”, fully formed in the present moment in time, built on our past and hoping for the future, but only truly existing in this moment. It is only this moment that actually exists or ever will exist, and it’s the only point in which our actions and choices will have any effect on the world, and it will be gone as quickly as it came. These drawings are attempts to show just how fleeting these moments are, these moments that so quickly become our long kept memories, and things that despite how much we might like to, are moments we can never relive. My hope is that when we look at these drawings, we will be reminded of the importance of now and possibly take more advantage of it than we might have without the reminder.

We all spend a part of each day, just waiting for something…a phone call…a bus to come…the traffic to move…the kettle to boil…a holiday…a pay rise…love…happiness…success…a file to upload. / Perhaps you’ve been waiting your whole life for something to happen? / Or maybe it’s just about to…any minute now.
