Canon Powershot with IR filter “As Is” / Brandywine Falls Ohio / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. / / This is in Cumbria, near Kendal. Uk. Shows the lovely velvety hills and a watery, blue tarn in the centre. Real stone walling at it’s best along the roadside. Lovely textures and colours from scree, trees, water & road to farm land & Kendal just a few miles away…I love this part of the country. I’m originally from Bolton, Lancs I now live in Cumbria & enjoy taking pictures of scenery, animals & people. This picture is inspiring, calming & welcoming It says “Welcome to Cumbria” Hope you enjoy ;)

Prague seen from Petrin Lookout Tower (Petrinska Rozhledna), Czech Republic. More than one year ago, I’ve got fascinated by some overlay works presented in various PS fora. Last year, I found about RB and soon could admire beautiful composite works of e.g. John Edwards here at RB. Inspired by many of those images here at RB or elsewhere, I’ve been planning to put my hands on some overlay work too, but I only got to it in recent days, ultimately inspired by The Wilds Of France by onefourseven (thank you, Mat, both for inspiration and a link to textures!). / This composite is my first result on the theme, composed of my original photograph and three textures from cgtextures.com. Comments and suggestions welcome! Original photograph: May 2008, Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, BW conversion, curves, sharpening, sepia, color adjustment, shape cut, filter gallery, overlay by three textures from cgtextures.com with adjusted brightness/contrast/levels/color, color adjustment, blend modes; final file: 24 layers, 5540×3693px, approx. 1.5GB, color profile conversion 10min, saving time >5min.

Every time I visit my mother, I come home with lots of beautiful flower photos, too many to choose just one, so I decided to put several together in this collage I’ve named, “Garden of Eden,” because that is exactly what Mama’s yard feels like! It’s a sight for the eyes and a soothing balm for the soul. The image of the cardinal sitting on the statue of Jesus is from my yard; there is a very old cardinal who loves to rest there. I think he’s got just the right idea. No better place to find peace!

La Salle is just off HWY 16 about 30 miles west of McBride BC in the Robson Valley. I grew up just a few miles from this spot. The Mountain in the background is nick named Hammer Mountain because Many years ago, I think before I was born, a forest fire left a scar in the shape of a hammer head just below tree line and below and to left of the highest peak. View large and see if you can spot it. / I took this photo over 20 years ago with my Canon AE-1 Program film camera. Captured on Kodak 100asa film.
