Featured The Picture of Scripture – 5/29/2009 / You’re Accepted – 5/25/2009 While out on a church picnic celebrating Memorial Day Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Camp El-Har in Dallas, TX, I noticed this cross atop one of the cabins. We had cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms in the forecast, but the rain stayed away. I went horseback riding (one of my most favorite things to do) with two of my nieces, and the pastor of our church. There was honeysuckle all along the trail, it smelled so sweet. All that came had a great time. Taken with a Kodak Easyshare Z812 IS HD camera with image stabilizer, Schneider-Kreuznach/Variogon 36mm-432mm (equivalent) AF 12X Optical Zoom.

  • Abstract...Salad Days
    by Janis Zroback

    US$4.66–US$106.40

The title of this abstract painting is a play on words…”Salad Days” in popular parlance refers to our youth, days of carefree life, romantic, joyous, free from responsibility…but the painting in it’s impression of a single lettuce leaf, is also a celebration of the joy of the coming season…salad days…. / I love the challenge of painting food as an abstract work…I used various types of watercolours, including the powdered metallics, to give me the effects I wanted to achieve…the veins of the leaf explode with vibrant reds and oranges, while the edges glitter with copper and gold…the feeling is of crackling heat and light….the vibrance and energy that comes only with youth in our “Salad Days“ / A Single Lettuce Leaf

  • Summer is rapidly approaching and the old picnic table that has been so long in the family is unclothed, showing the scars of age…peeling layers of paint…we trace the first colours that fathers father painted 60 years ago…remember that? then father painted the table many years later…it was blue or maybe green…then Uncle George…the table came to us then…I remember..it was 1950, the year we married…we wanted to strip the paint, but didn’t have time, so we painted it white…now Lindsay our great granddaughter has the table…she got it on her wedding day ten years ago…she plans to paint it again “Family History” Fictional extract…JZ..
