  • Skeleton of desert plant. Studio still life. Photo based mixed medium image. Extreme image softness, textures, and grain.

  • One of my favorite toys.

  • I’m uncertain about Quantum Mechanics…

  • Caution! A singularity is kinda like the Hotel California. You can orbit, but you can never leave. Other hazardous materials t-shirts: /

  • This fractal image was created in Apophysis 2.06c 3D hack using some methods that I have been experimenting with recently. An interesting fact is that the texture of my image comes from a transform that uses the julian and disc variations and then was lowered out of the image using z translate, so this variation is not actually seen in the final image, but without it there wouldn’t really be a texture. The second transform which is the actual “fabric” comes from a combination of bubble, pre_blur, rectangles, oscilloscope, bipolar and hemisphere. And the last transform simply uses bubble and pre_blur with a bit of z translate to put it in the correct space. No post or final transforms were used. And, here’s a bit of me that’s reverting to my good old physics/astronomy (Gotta love physics!): According to Einstein, space itself can be thought to be like a fabric. Imagine placing a bowling ball on the surface of a mattress. The bowling ball will cause the mattress to dip downwards where it is touching. Imagine this bowling ball to be the Sun now. The planets go around in their ever widening circles because of the way that the Sun is effecting space. In my picture above, you can see the curving of the space around the sphere. But also, what happens to the sphere if space itself is fractured? Will the sphere sink downwards through the fabric? That is a question that I had once, and I suspect it will be a long time until there is an answer for it.

  • The Perfect Composite of Man not only possesses seven physical senses, but also seven Soul senses, which relate to each other. 1.Touch -The power of psychometrize. 2.Taste – The power to absorb and enjoy the finer essence of life wave. 3.Smell – The power to distinguish the spiritual aromas of nature. 4.Sight – The lucid state called clairvoyance. 5.Hearing – The ability to perceive the ethereal vibrations termed clairaudience. 6.Intuition – The capacity to receive true inspirations. 7.Thought transference – The power to converse with spiritual intelligence at will. • A brilliantly witty piece of stencil graffiti of the famous Monty Python Funny Walk sketch. It’s the one where the wonderful John Cleese is a civil servant in the Ministry of Silly Walks and true to his role stalks around his office in a series of increasingly daft walks. Someone has taken the time and effort to cut out a stencil of eight stages of the most iconic of the Silly Walks and then to go to a particularly unattractive and scruffy industrial area on Manchester to spray the stencil right at the bottom of a garage door. Very bizarre!

  • dont know how or who set this rock up like this. it isnt supported by any other rocks around it. / ever since i first saw it along the river in tremont, i have wanted a shot of it. / doing a late evening drive last night in tremont, i decided to finally capture this before someone or the waters knock it down. / i think it’s an excellent example on how physics really works. that if something is placed at just the right mark, it can be balanced. / what amazes me the most about this, is the size of rock used, and then that little rock to set the balance just right. / i had to shoot this at a pretty low shutterspeed due to my lighting fading quickly. / if you view larger you will see, this river rock isnt propped up by anything, the only thing around it..is that little rock to complete the balance, because i checked the shot thoroughly to see if there was anything behind it

  • In India, our culture believes that there are many universes like ours as we see today, and each is governed by Lord Vishnu. There are as many Lord Vishnu as universes originated from the MAHAVISHNU representing the Brahmañ who is silently takes part in the divine play of creation – Lila. I spotted this water lily in my recent photo shoot. This time the rain had blessed me to make this theme happen :) The tiny water droplets make me recall multi verses and the enlightened water lily the Brahmañ here. Reposted after noise reduction ( 02.01.2009 ) Equipment Canon EOS 400D & Canon EF 70-300 mm lens @ 300 mm. HDR Generated work. 3 single exposure images merged. processed in CS3.

  • I was watching the movie “The Ultimate Gift” listening to the character played by James Garner talking to his grandson when he said… ‘Learning is a gift… even if pain is your teacher”. As soon as the words had finished coming out of his mouth I honestly said out loud – YES!! Immediately I was blown away by the quote and I wrote it down and thought about its meaning for weeks. I’ve never felt so affected by a sentence before. Upon reflecting this quote I found quite confronting to realise that I spent my twenties doing everything to avoid and “run away” from my emotional pain.. Now in my 30s I’ve realised that pain was essential for me to be a more caring, less-judgemental and forgiving person. Pain seems to show us the truth in others… the truth that all people, no matter what’s on the outside… have a heart capable of breaking on the inside. It gives me great comfort that I can now view the grief of my brothers death as somewhat of a gift to me – rather than nothing but a loss FEATURED IN Prize Challenges GROUP / FEATURED IN Creative Inspirations / FEATURED IN YOU’RE ACCEPTED GROUP / FEATURED IN FIRST THINGS GROUP / FEATURED IN TYPOGRAPHY GROUP / FEATURED IN THE ART OF PAIN GROUP t-shirt available .

  • The periodic table of elements

  • Goddess woman overcome by the light. Photo based mixed medium illustration.

  • For some, emotions have a physical and/or chemical explanation as the origin of emotions… for others, emotions are the origin of physical and/or chemical changes. / For me, Emotions Are.

  • The other side of the scientific explanation of emotions… soon you’ll know from our scientists exactly why you cry and how you can prevent it from ever happening again. But there’s one sure recipe to prevent crying forever: kill (extirpate) the soul! Now, one can be so free, light and more than ever, Beautifully Empty. ..of course I’m sarcastic here, what were you thinking? Don’t make me cry, for goodness sake! I don’t want or need to be explained by science.

  • Iconic rocket that took us to the moon in the 60s.

  • Crow serves as the gatekeeper to the void, the void being the formless world of spirit. Crow can travel between the spirit world and the phenomenal or physical world of reality. Crow’s black feathers retain elements of the substance of the void with their subtle, fluctuating iridescence. There are many stories from many cultures that talk about how Crow played an important role in the development and evolution of humanity…including the bringing of light out of the darkness. This painting depicts Crow in the between space of spirit and the physical world. I worked on this piece while at a painting residency at Vermont Studio Center in 2008. This is one of the first paintings that I felt really spoke directly to me and had a consciousness of its own. I believe all my paintings, when I am working on them, are alive in some way. But usually they simply resonate with the energy that I focus on when I paint them. This painting was unique and individual and had its own personality and energy independent of my own. I talked to this painting. She told me what she wanted. I had only to listen… (original painting: “Crow, She Brought Light”, acrylic on canvas, 30×30”) All artwork and text © Copyright 2009 DoAn Art (Antony Galbraith) unless indicated otherwise. • ‘I am the Eye of Horus; I have opened the Eye of Horus in his hour. / O Eye of Horus support me…...’ The Egyptian Book Of The Dead Casting a vision of creativity, dedicated to my wonderful nephew. Painting using acrylics, inks, pigment and graphite / 102×42cm London 24th June 2009 – For Jas with love always

  • Reflections of sins aren’t sins. / Your past doesn’t live in your mirror. / Check it out, that shiny thing: it’s not equal to you, / even though it appears that way. / It’s a shimmer and a moment of light. / What are you? / You’re yesterday’s milk and honey. / You’re last year’s pie in the sky. / You’re more real than your mirror. / You’re tomorrow’s desire. Your mirror falsifies. / Your mirror pretends to be you. / It steals your light and bends it just so. / But if you look… / if you SEE… / Your mirror’s lifemask will be revealed. / You’ll see how it degrades the images of your life, / how each copy is less than than the one before. Glance at it, if you must, but then walk away. / After all, it’s only smoke….and lies. The inequity of self-judgment irritates the heck out of me. We NEVER have a clear idea of what and who we are, if we use others’ opinions as a guide. Today I’m going to try harder to stay secure in my own knowledge. Two photoimages and a fractal edited in Photoshop Elements 3. / It you look EVERY closely you’ll see that one side of this mirror image is lying.

  • I had to work up the courage to post this. It took me three days to create: 5 fractals, 3 photo images, and 2 digital paintings all layered. If it were made of real paint, I’d be drenched and this room I’m in would look like the color wheel blew up. Last night I loved the piece too much; this morning I changed it and I love it “enough.” / I’m discovering that loving an image too much means that I can’t see it for what it is…..and isn’t. I can’t assess its completeness or its direction or its readiness to face the world. Now it’s done. I love it enough to accept it and stand behind it. It’s part of me today, not more than what I am. Anyway, I love thinking about wormholes and trying to see them in my mind. And sometimes I imagine how things would be if two of them gently collided, trying to occupy the same “place” at one time. I like to think they’d say “Oh, excuse me!” and then become good neighbors. /
