I’m uncertain about Quantum Mechanics…
I was watching the movie “The Ultimate Gift” listening to the character played by James Garner talking to his grandson when he said… ‘Learning is a gift… even if pain is your teacher”. As soon as the words had finished coming out of his mouth I honestly said out loud – YES!! Immediately I was blown away by the quote and I wrote it down and thought about its meaning for weeks. I’ve never felt so affected by a sentence before. Upon reflecting this quote I found quite confronting to realise that I spent my twenties doing everything to avoid and “run away” from my emotional pain.. Now in my 30s I’ve realised that pain was essential for me to be a more caring, less-judgemental and forgiving person. Pain seems to show us the truth in others… the truth that all people, no matter what’s on the outside… have a heart capable of breaking on the inside. It gives me great comfort that I can now view the grief of my brothers death as somewhat of a gift to me – rather than nothing but a loss FEATURED IN Prize Challenges GROUP / FEATURED IN Creative Inspirations / FEATURED IN YOU’RE ACCEPTED GROUP / FEATURED IN FIRST THINGS GROUP / FEATURED IN TYPOGRAPHY GROUP t-shirt available .

A brilliantly witty piece of stencil graffiti of the famous Monty Python Funny Walk sketch. It’s the one where the wonderful John Cleese is a civil servant in the Ministry of Silly Walks and true to his role stalks around his office in a series of increasingly daft walks. Someone has taken the time and effort to cut out a stencil of eight stages of the most iconic of the Silly Walks and then to go to a particularly unattractive and scruffy industrial area on Manchester to spray the stencil right at the bottom of a garage door. Very bizarre!

Crow serves as the gatekeeper to the void, the void being the formless world of spirit. Crow can travel between the spirit world and the phenomenal or physical world of reality. Crow’s black feathers retain elements of the substance of the void with their subtle, fluctuating iridescence. There are many stories from many cultures that talk about how Crow played an important role in the development and evolution of humanity…including the bringing of light out of the darkness. This painting depicts Crow in the between space of spirit and the physical world. This is one of the first paintings that I felt really spoke directly to me and had a consciousness of its own. I believe all my paintings, when I am working on them, are alive in some way. But usually they simply resonate with the energy that I focus on when I paint them. This painting was unique and individual and had its own personality and energy independent of my own. I talked to this painting. She told me what she wanted. I started this painting without a preliminary drawing, I just started applying paint and Crow began to emerge. This was a new experience for me, since I usually draw an outline on the canvas for a guide. As a result, I was constantly surprised by what began to emerge. The background fluctuated, it was one thing, then another, until a dark void appeared. I went to bed at night and through dreams Crow assured me that she knew what she was doing…which meant that I just had to trust myself. So, I became a witness to my own painting. It was a revelation for me. (original painting: “Crow, She Brought Light”, acrylic on canvas, 30×30”) All artwork and text © Copyright 2009 DoAn Art (Antony Galbraith) unless indicated otherwise. dont know how or who set this rock up like this. it isnt supported by any other rocks around it. / ever since i first saw it along the river in tremont, i have wanted a shot of it. / doing a late evening drive last night in tremont, i decided to finally capture this before someone or the waters knock it down. / i think it’s an excellent example on how physics really works. that if something is placed at just the right mark, it can be balanced. / what amazes me the most about this, is the size of rock used, and then that little rock to set the balance just right. / i had to shoot this at a pretty low shutterspeed due to my lighting fading quickly. / if you view larger you will see, this river rock isnt propped up by anything, the only thing around it..is that little rock to complete the balance, because i checked the shot thoroughly to see if there was anything behind it

The other side of the scientific explanation of emotions… soon you’ll know from our scientists exactly why you cry and how you can prevent it from ever happening again. But there’s one sure recipe to prevent crying forever: kill (extirpate) the soul! Now, one can be so free, light and more than ever, Beautifully Empty. ..of course I’m sarcastic here, what were you thinking? Don’t make me cry, for goodness sake! I don’t want or need to be explained by science.
One of my favorite toys.
The Perfect Composite of Man not only possesses seven physical senses, but also seven Soul senses, which relate to each other. 1.Touch -The power of psychometrize. 2.Taste – The power to absorb and enjoy the finer essence of life wave. 3.Smell – The power to distinguish the spiritual aromas of nature. 4.Sight – The lucid state called clairvoyance. 5.Hearing – The ability to perceive the ethereal vibrations termed clairaudience. 6.Intuition – The capacity to receive true inspirations. 7.Thought transference – The power to converse with spiritual intelligence at will. This fractal image was created in Apophysis 2.06c 3D hack using some methods that I have been experimenting with recently. An interesting fact is that the texture of my image comes from a transform that uses the julian and disc variations and then was lowered out of the image using z translate, so this variation is not actually seen in the final image, but without it there wouldn’t really be a texture. The second transform which is the actual “fabric” comes from a combination of bubble, pre_blur, rectangles, oscilloscope, bipolar and hemisphere. And the last transform simply uses bubble and pre_blur with a bit of z translate to put it in the correct space. No post or final transforms were used. And, here’s a bit of me that’s reverting to my good old physics/astronomy (Gotta love physics!): According to Einstein, space itself can be thought to be like a fabric. Imagine placing a bowling ball on the surface of a mattress. The bowling ball will cause the mattress to dip downwards where it is touching. Imagine this bowling ball to be the Sun now. The planets go around in their ever widening circles because of the way that the Sun is effecting space. In my picture above, you can see the curving of the space around the sphere. But also, what happens to the sphere if space itself is fractured? Will the sphere sink downwards through the fabric? That is a question that I had once, and I suspect it will be a long time until there is an answer for it.
A bubble split / Does now form two / They each commit / To where they grew / / Together tied / Yet far apart / They take their guide / From where they start / / Creating time / Creating space / With strings that chime / To keep their place / / Dimension blind / They leave no trace / For humankind / They have no face / / Though everywhere / They do disperse / You see they share / The multiverse / / This fractal artwork was inspired by several theories hypothesized in quantum mechanics and subatomic physics about the ‘multiverse’. The ‘multiverse’, is the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including our universe) that together comprise all of reality within the entire cosmos. The different universes within the multiverse are sometimes called parallel universes. The structure of the multiverse, the nature of each universe within it and the relationship between the various constituent universes, depend on the specific multiverse hypothesis considered. / / The first construct of the multiverse is the ‘Bubble Theory’. Bubble theory hypothesizes that there are an infinite number of open multiverses, each with different physical constants. This Bubble universe theory fits well with the widely accepted theory of cosmic inflation. The bubble universe concept involves creation of universes from the quantum foam of a “parent universe.” On very small scales, the foam is frothing due to energy fluctuations. These fluctuations may create tiny bubbles and wormholes. If the energy fluctuation is not very large, a tiny bubble universe may form, experience some expansion like an inflating balloon, and then contract and disappear from existence. However, if the energy fluctuation is greater than a particular critical value, a tiny bubble universe forms from the parent universe, experiences long-term expansion, and allows matter and large-scale galactic structures to form. The second construct of the multiverse is called the ‘Many Worlds Interpretation’(MWI). The multiverse proposed by MWI has a shared time parameter. In most formulations, all the constituent universes are structurally identical to each other, and though they have the same physical laws and values for the fundamental constants, they may exist in different states. The constituent universes are furthermore non-communicating, in the sense that no information can pass between them, although they may potentially affect each other through quantum interference. The state of the entire multiverse is related to the states of the constituent universes by quantum superposition, and is described by a single universal wave function. The third construct of the multiverse is the ‘M-Theory’. In ‘M-Theory’, our universe and others are created by collisions between membranes in an 11-dimensional space. This is unlike the universes in the “quantum multiverse”. This fractal artwork attempts to visually combine the elements of all three of these theories into one generalized theory. A theory without a name that lives right now only in my own imagination. I envision a multiverse where each ‘bubble’ universe in turn / reproduces other bubble universes much like a biological cell splits to become identical yet different. The ‘child’ bubble universes are infinitely tied to one another as well as their parent through the principles of string theory, yet at the same time are isolated from one another by dimensions beyond the physical realm. If you look at nature, from the smallest particle, to a planet, to the largest galaxy… you will see this spherical construct as the primary one of all things in the cosmos. / / The artwork was created in Apophysis 3D Hack, and the gradient used was created with ApoMap. I hope you’ll enjoy my visual representation of the ‘Drew’ theory of the multiverse. / /
When time has come and death is near / They show their strength and hide their fear / They share a joke, then shed a tear / Last moments spent with those held dear / / As grasp released on life held tight / And darkness falls, as though the night / Then soon replaced by something bright / Freed soul now moves into the light / / As toward the light they do ascend / They understand, they comprehend / It’s just begun, it’s not the end / Forever does their life extend / / This fractal artwork was inspired one night while watching a show on the television called ‘Ghost Whisperer’, where a woman is able to communicate with earthbound souls and help them ‘cross over to the other side’. As is the case in many near death experiences, the folks that die for a few moments and then come back describe going towards a beautiful light. / / I am not really a very religious person, however, I do believe that there is something much greater than us all in the grand scheme of things in the universe. In physics, the law of conservation of energy states that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant. A consequence of this law is that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only changed in form. Seeing as how humans are basically a large network of electricity and magnetism (energy) housed within our bodies (matter), and given the physics law stated above, then this energy that makes us what we are can not die, but only change form. / / So what many may term as our souls (energy) must move on as another form of energy. So someone that dies for a moment and them makes it back saying that they see this light may not be as far-fetched as a lot of folks think… even from the scientific perspective. / / This fractal artwork was created in Apophysis, and is meant to conceptually portray what that light may look like as we move toward it after our physical demise, that portal where our life energy is converted into another form. The original is 3600 pixels square at 300 pixels per inch and took 51 hours and 22 minutes to render on a 3.2 Ghz PC with 4 GB of RAM. These technical details so you can appreciate how detailed the print is. / /
