The end of another perfect day…
This is the principle temple in Bangkok and houses the ‘Emerald Buddha’ It’s Chedi’s (Spires) soar above the surrounding area and are all gilded.
This Chedi (Spire) is immense and glitters vividly in the sunlight. Visitors flock to see these sights.
At the most visited temple in Bangkok, Wat Phra Kaew, there are several ‘Kinnarees’ and this ones Wai (greeting) is one of the most photographed.
The murals at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok are truly amazing. They chronicle the Thai story and stretch for dozens of metres. Luckily I had a very wide lens as these Monks walked past admiring the artwork.
One of the most striking things at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok, is all the gilded, walls, figures, spires, et. This wall was very ornate and glittered in the sunlight.
At the Wat Phra Kaew and Grand Palace complex, there are some amazing sights to see. Not the least of these is the amazing gilding on walls, figures, doors, etc.
The traditional Thai greeting (Wai) here performed by a ‘Kinnaree’ at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
Half woman, half bird, many ‘Kinnaree’s’ surround the temple complex at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.

My dear friend Judi is not feeling so great today, so I photographed this lovely statue for her at the university I live near.. ;) This is the Thai statue Phra Apaimanee ‘Whose magic pipe music soothes the listeners’ – I hope her magic makes Judi and anyone else who is under the weather feel better today..;)
STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA / The Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) is regarded as the most sacred Buddhist temple (wat) in Thailand. It is located in the historic center of Bangkok (district Phra Nakhon), within the grounds of the Grand Palace. / The construction of the temple started when King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (Rama I) moved the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok in 1785. Unlike other temples it does not contain living quarters for monks; rather, it has only the highly decorated holy buildings, statues, and pagodas. The main building is the central ubosoth, which houses the Emerald Buddha. /
