too much work… film noir style.
This was took at the Palace of Versaille on a recent trip to Paris. / Crazy I know but I seem to favour taking pictures of trees to the grand buildings!!.
/ A neighborhood stray cat that has been coming around lately. We love cats and have not been chasing him off…too much. He would make a great companion to someone, but we already have nine; seven of them were unwanted or, rescued and adopted by us. / How this shot was done: Multiple masking layers in Corel PSP-XI used for brightness/contrast and slight saturations to bring out the color in the snout, the brightness of the eyes, but retain the detail of the dark nose.
Another photograph I took while dogwalking last night (19 May 08) I have manipulated it in PS. I love this time of year everywhere is so green and lush!!.
The pentagram… To the Wiccan, the five points of the pentagram represent Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit. Wiccans usually put the symbol in a circle, which has traditionally represented the endless or eternity. The ancient Chinese believed there were five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water), five planets, five seasons, five senses, as well as five basic colors, sounds and tastes. / -source Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. / The pentagram has magical associations, and many people who practice Neopagan faiths wear jewelry incorporating the symbol. / Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, and it also has associations within Freemasonry. The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman word lucifer, which was a term used for Venus as the Morning Star, associated with the bringer of light and knowledge. It is most likely to have originated from the observations of prehistoric astronomers. When viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the zodiac every eight years. Many Neopagans, especially Wiccans, use the pentagram as a symbol of faith similar to the Christian cross or the Jewish Star of David. / It is not, however, a universal symbol for Neopaganism, and is rarely used by Reconstructionists. / Its religious symbolism is commonly explained by reference to the neo-Pythagorean understanding that the five vertices of the pentagram represent the four elements with the addition of Spirit as the uppermost point. / As a representation of the elements, the pentagram is involved in the Wiccan practice of summoning the elemental spirits of the four directions at the beginning of a ritual. The outer circle of the circumscribed pentagram is sometimes interpreted as binding the elements together or bringing them into harmony with each other. The Neopagan pentagram is generally displayed with one point up, partly because of the “inverted” goat’s head pentagram’s association with Satanism; however, within traditional forms of Wicca a pentagram with two points up is associated with the Second Degree Initiation and in this context has no relation to Satanism. Because of a perceived association with Satanism and also because of negative societal attitudes towards Neopagan religions and the “occult”, many United States schools have sought to prevent students from displaying the pentagram on clothing or jewelry. In public schools, such actions by administrators have been determined to be in violation of students’ First Amendment right to free exercise of religion. / -from wikipedia also available / the verse powers / “ thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /

You shall no longer be termed Forsaken, / Nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; / But you shall be called Hephzibah [My delight is in her], and your land Beulah [Married]; / For the LORD delights in you, / And your land shall be married. Sometimes I’m drawn into the world of Photoshop and end up creating something completely unexpected. For the most part the images you see here, started life as real photographs or collections of photographs and ended up as something that’s either surreal or amusing (to me). Sometimes I’ll hide an image inside another and tell nobody it’s there. For instance, did you notice the cover image is actually a lemon? And sometimes I hide the meaning of my work completely and let others decide. / At the end of the day I’m a photographer and not a graphic artist, but I enjoy these little trips into the unknown, I hope you do to!
Fractal found and tweeked in apophysis and worked on edited in Photoshop Gates of Eden Song and lyrics by Bob Dylan Of war and peace the truth just twists / Its curfew gull just glides / Upon four-legged forest clouds / The cowboy angel rides / With his candle lit into the sun / Though its glow is waxed in black / All except when ‘neath the trees of Eden The lamppost stands with folded arms / Its iron claws attached / To curbs ‘neath holes where babies wail / Though it shadows metal badge / All and all can only fall / With a crashing but meaningless blow / No sound ever comes from the Gates of Eden The savage soldier sticks his head in sand / And then complains / Unto the shoeless hunter who’s gone deaf / But still remains / Upon the beach where hound dogs bay / At ships with tattooed sails / Heading for the Gates of Eden With a time-rusted compass blade / Aladdin and his lamp / Sits with Utopian hermit monks / Side saddle on the Golden Calf / And on their promises of paradise / You will not hear a laugh / All except inside the Gates of Eden Relationships of ownership / They whisper in the wings / To those condemned to act accordingly / And wait for succeeding kings / And I try to harmonize with songs / The lonesome sparrow sings / There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden The motorcycle black madonna / Two-wheeled gypsy queen / And her silver-studded phantom cause / The gray flannel dwarf to scream / As he weeps to wicked birds of prey / Who pick up on his bread crumb sins / And there are no sins inside the Gates of Eden The kingdoms of Experience / In the precious wind they rot / While paupers change possessions / Each one wishing for what the other has got / And the princess and the prince / Discuss what’s real and what is not / It doesn’t matter inside the Gates of Eden The foreign sun, it squints upon / A bed that is never mine / As friends and other strangers / From their fates try to resign / Leaving men wholly, totally free / To do anything they wish to do but die / And there are no trials inside the Gates of Eden At dawn my lover comes to me / And tells me of her dreams / With no attempts to shovel the glimpse / Into the ditch of what each one means / At times I think there are no words / But these to tell what’s true / And there are no truths outside the Gates of Eden
I started playing in Artrage, then moved to Photshop to create what would have been a huge mess with paints… It is my ‘day to play’ with my hubby (date day – every week), this is the kick-off for what I have in store for him ;) Rainbow Connection sung by Kermit the Frog inspires me to fingerpaint in this way ;)
A closer view of another photo i have on here of a gated pathway. I like the Gate blocking my way back to Bungay. Nikon D90 Camera / NikonLens 18-105 Vr / Focal length 75 / F5.3 / Exposure 1/400 / ISO 400 Slight level change in photoshop. / I liked how the gate and wood stood out against the paleness of the surrondings. One day i will learn selective colouring.
