Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (1 from series of 6 – redesigned from 2004/5 Japanese Series). Re-worked combining two from the series. Shot the tree, flowers & combined them in P/S with drawn elements & filtered the lot. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Generally I tire of my artwork yet still love this series to this day.

This is what happens when I get flowers- I smile, take care of them and arrange them, and then I get out my camera to take lots of pictures! I love flowers, especially roses- simple yet complex, delicate, eternal beauties. I tried to show that in this image I created in photoshop, and just looking at it gives me a feeling of serene happiness. Hope you enjoy it too! / / / See other flowers

This image of the last petal on the rose reminds me of a proud superhero standing with his cape blowing in the wind….. But I don’t believe in caped superheroes anymore…Just real and ordinary people who prove to be extraordinary.

Featured in Dimensions, August 31, 2009 and in Digital Brushstrokes September 6, 2009. This art started out as a photograph of a black-capped chickadee sitting on a cedar tree branch in the woods behind our home. / After several hours in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand to give the image a painted look. The original photograph was of a dozen roses. After painstakingly removing all but the single rose in Photoshop, I applied several gradients and filters to achieve this final effect.
