Retouched/airbrushed face/body, emphasised eyes, arched eyebrows, closed lips & enlarged them, minimised jawline, lengthened body/legs, re-worked hair/background elements, changed overall body perspective & added a magenta selective colour layer adjustment.

*Don’t phunk with my heart * / By: Black Eyed Peas You can listen here ;-) This image was really fun to create. I started in gimp doing lots of little sparkles, and drawing the heart shape. I added a filter or 5 ( I forget), and then moved onto photoshop. There I added the smoke, and some lighting effects, as well as a few more filters. well now.. clear polish can’t possibly be sinful so I had to add some sinfulness to it… really…clear being sinful… pathetic…. ;) I love that the brush looks like a figure of a woman in a dress too… Nikon D80 / For the Define Yourself Challenge in The Woman Photographer group I decided to add this one, but hosts can’t win this challenge so it shall be removed. Why did I pick this one? For so many reasons: I am a woman, I am a mom, a wife, an artist, a student. I struggle with each on a daily basis. I have lost my faith and my religion. / HOWEVER I am beautiful, I am strong and have a fire in me that keeps me going and I love life. I feel this image fits me well. Even though I rarely paint my nails lol! =)

Selfportrait, Tarot series Major Arcana in the Tarot – Justice is represented by the astrological sign of Libra, representing cold, impartial balance – reason achieved through objectivity. To me, Justice is blind and often bloody. Impartiality comes with a price, as does everything in life. In Archetypal thought per Jung, Justice is embodied by the Warrior – hence the bloodiness, again. / This is what Justice means to me. It requires strength, brutality and blind impartiality. If such a thing can be achieved. We’re only human, after all…

I’ve wanted to a piece showing the work(s) and people that I admire here on Redbubble for a while now. So I decided to Bmail everyone in my favorites list with the same request: Dear (favorite), / I’m currently thinking about producing a new piece of artwork for Redbubble and I want to feature screen grabs/screen shots of the work in my favourites list (3 to 4 pages in total), in the thumbnail/list view in some way or another… not completely sure yet. / Obviously your fine example(s) of work feature(s) in my list, so I would like to know if you are happy for me to include it or not? The screen grabs will obviously be at low resolution so when they’re included in the finished artwork they would not be particularly sharp.. I just want to use them as part of the overall concept. / It is going to be a piece (I think…maybe!) loosely to do with copyright/copyright infringement, maybe censorship….? If you are not happy for me to use the thumbnail, that’s no problem at all as it will/may form part of the design (the censorship bit…. maybe… blanked out?) / As you can tell it’s a thought in progress – if I get a negative response it’ll be back to the drawing board! / Obviously all of you (if any) will get a mention/link to your original piece of work that I’ve favourited…. maybe, even the people who don’t want their work to appear (the blanked out work) in the artwork itself will still get a link to their piece…? / If you don’t want your work, your name or anything else to be used in any way whatsoever please let me know – I will completely respect your reasons for this and leave it completely out; blanked out or otherwise. / I’m emailng everyone in my favourites list with the same request so I guess it might take a while before I can even start the artwork. If it all goes to plan and I’m reasonably happy with the finished result, I could even send you a copy of the artwork before it goes live just so you can approve it…. please let me know if you want this I’d prefer not to do this though as the work will obviously have already been done! Acrylic on canvas, blended with images in photo shop. I took a photo of an ally window through a store front a while ago in Seattle. It reminded me of an old black and white movie. I could just feel the tension of wondering what or who was inside. The scene had a feeling of loneliness. As if the person living there might be a recluse. I can relate to that at times. I had been waiting for something that would work with this shot. / In the mean time, I did this acrylic painting. I was thinking of posting it, but the title wouldn’t come to me. I love the textures and colors but I had a strong feeling that it needed more. / The painting and my image of the window seemed like they were meant for each other. / But then it needed one more element. / The bird had been perched on the wire above my house. He almost seemed to be posing for me, looking in all directions. The sun was at a perfect angle to highlight his breast. I guess I needed his photo as well. I hope you like the blend and the mystery of the bird and window. / /
