The third artwork in the Nautical Series. This digital landscape is a digital painting done in both Corel Painter and Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Intuos3 tablet. No photo references were used. This artwork was originally a painting i created, 75×100cm, although she had light brown hair and was no where near as smoky as this little hussybag!!! I jazzed up her photo in photoshop and she came out like this. One of my favourite pieces of artwork i’ve ever created, although i do wish i painted her like this in the first place, just so she could hang on my wall and remind me that i really do love to paint.

Mesa Arch, Canyonlands NP, Utah, USA. Utah has an amazing landscape, there is so much to see, very photogenic with all that red rock, especially viewed against a very blue sky ! (I like it best when there are a few clouds as well though !) This Arch is reached along a rocky trail, and is very impressive, as it perfectly frames the view beyond. / We did quite a few of the trails in Canyonlands and Arches, and found the very dry going underfoot an absolute dream, since we are more used to having to play ‘dodge the bog’ here in super-wet Scotland ! Shot on Fuji Velvia, around seven years ago. I scanned it on to my PC with my Nikon Coolscan VED, and tidied up a bit of ‘dust’ in Photoshop. I also beefed up the red colour for more impact. Palau de los Correos, Valencia, Spain. (Telecommunications and Post Office). I took this shot around the corner from where ‘Empty’ was taken, the lane way shot, below. This incredibly ornate and decorated building sits in the Place de l’Ajuntament, otherwise known as the Town Square. It shares a home with the Valencia Town Hall, a classic cinema and several bars and restaurants. It’s a busy, bustling area of the city, and is alive with a vibe that keeps you entertained for days.
