I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Photographic based digital montage – 2007 (no 2 from series of 3). Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone. Thank you to both models who wish to remain anonymous. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Just Sometimes (Song of Laughter and Forgetting) by Swervedriver – entered in Red Bubble ‘songmanip07 – Musical Photo Competition’. So many great entries. So I’m afraid that a close-up of an eye with various work in photoshop may be a bit cliché- but enough people have done it that I don’t have a particular example to credit as my inspiration. Created in photoshop with a picture I took of my eye (next to the sink :) ) and a picture of a campfire from this summer. I now also have a second in a series of element eye images Awash – let me know what you think, I think I like Ablaze better but it will be cool when I have all of them… /

The original image was an oil painting that I did for a Christmas present. Another friend loved it so much she wanted it as a logo for her business. I’ve redrawn it and changed the colours in photoshop to give it more graphic look.

To achieve the soft focus on this photo I add a guassian blur to one of the channels (can’t remember which one), changed to sepia and then added a ‘soft light’ blending layer also a little dodging and burning… v. simple! A couple more from my sisters wedding: The Groom Family fussing…
