A vivid HDR image of a rushing stream cascading over rocks in a a ravine littered with fallen leaves in autumn. Captured in Marble Canyon in Kootenay National Park in British Columbia, Canada. / Taken with a Canon Rebel XSi using an 18-55mm lens. Converted to HDR with Photomatix Pro 3. Marble Canyon is a deep narrow gorge, formed by Tokumm Creek, which owes its name to its pale marbled limestone and dolomite walls. An interpretive trail of about a mile circles the canyon to a waterfall. Marble Canyon is spanned by several bridges, and has a small information center opened to visitors in the summer.

Ah, sometimes we must make the best of the worst situations. This was the iron head of a horse which was situated on the gates outside a childhood residence! The original shot was taken in May 2006 at a Viking festival held at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire. Here I have converted the shot to black and white and used the part of the porcelain skin technique described in the Photo Manipulators forums. Then I added a rock texture and erased some of it to reveal the men. Another layer was given a harsh sepia tone which was then overlayed on to the background and adjusted with the opacity slider. All my own images.

Taken at Loughborough Fair on November 12th 2009 about 3 hours before the fair opened for the day. Security gaurds are there to prevent vandalism and theft. He didn’t see me. Levels and contrast adjusted and then a layer was created and changed to black and white which then had the rough pastels filter applied. This was then partially erased to bring out some colour.
