The Keith-Albee was named after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum Corporation, one of the leading vaudeville performance chains at that time, to convince the directors of Keith-Albee-Orpheum to make the Keith-Albee a regular stop. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Huntington Downtown Historical District, and is currently being restored as a performing arts center. The Keith-Albee opened on May 8, 1928. The theatre was constructed by the talented architect Thomas W. Lamb. At that time, it was second in size in the United States to the Roxy Theatre in New York City. At first, the theatre offered vaudeville acts with local performers of A.B. and S.J. Hyman. The theatre survived a major flood in 1937. NIKON D60 18-55 mm NIKON NIKOR VR LENS
