Diligently reading, and literary captured, / As I, with my foot on my book, observe / A soft beauty, that with a polite air, has raptured / My heart, and be graced my pen, for such I will never deserve. Silently with the scent of perfumed air, / And a slight pinch of luscious lips, / Her passionate determinism is more than I can bare. / Subtle tease, her face hidden, as past her face her hair slips. In sensuous contemplation does her finger turn / From thoughtful chin to provocative lip. / To replace such a delicate finger, do my lips yearn / But will not, in knowing the consequences of such a slip. In graceful affirmation of my attention, / She tousles waves of brown hair / And smiles pleasantly, a sign of my detection. / Disheartedly, I smile as tension fills the air. I open my mouth, and my tongue stalls. / She laughs, nervously, and then her eyes lie. / Looking deep into my soul as I fall / Deep into her’s, eye to eye. Robert L. Bixler III

  • This is the second image from outside this winter. I took this Thursday morning while strolling around in the snow storm :) The few trucks that passed me looked at me like I was crazy walking along side the road, and I took very few shots because I was afraid to get my camera too wet but the snow looked amazing. I did some work with this one in photoshop to turn the snow from grey to white- but there really was that much snow that you couldn’t see the road or anything in the distance.

  • A friend got a sweet kitten and it fell asleep in my lap. This is my favorite picture of all the pictures I took of the kitten that day. Her name is Sheba.

  • I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

  • Spotted this view of a zebra at Adelaide Zoo and just couldn’t resist capturing it :) Top 10 place in The ‘Bottom’ Line challenge, October 2009 Top 10 place in the Buyers R Us… group challenge Featured in LMAO ART – Your Funniest Work March 2009 Featured in Photography 101 February 2009 Also available as a T-shirt Stripes Buyer’s Booth Photo (Model is my wonderful husband!) /

  • Image for a challenge using plain white paper. Using long exposure and torchlight to light the area, this is what I came up with. exp – 8 seconds / f3.5 / iso 80 / FL 31mm / eveready torch with piano certificate held in front to diffuse the torchlight, only other props include sticky tape and one sheet of plain white photocopy paper, and lots of patience. At one stage, a rotating multi-coloured disco light was involved, but this was soon abandoned due to the law of physics/light not matching the image in my head :(

  • I didn’t intend for the striped part (bottom) to / be like that. I’d added an “artistic frame” and was trying to / move it around with the hand tool-but accidentally clicked / the magic wand instead. I liked this particular accident…heh. / / Self Portrait / (taken last week) / / Featured: Self Portrait / / /

  • WILD & FREE / / Polar bear mother praying for some ice so she may hunt to feed her cubs. / / The sea ice is shrinking at an alarming rate, which has a huge impact for the bears as this is their main hunting ground. More and more bears are being found to have drowned while trying to find the ice, even though they can swim up to sixty miles or so! / / I hope the ice does not completely vanish and that they always have somewhere to hut! (Spitsbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / /
