  • this gang of Adelie penguins gave me a great opportunity for quite a series of entertaining photographs as they zoomed busily about their icy playground. This photo has become a symbol of connection and friendship among my own personal group of nearest and dearest friends.

  • My entry into the fashion photo competition / Thanks to my darling friend Caitlin for being my model

  • Enjoy!

  • Another self portrait. Ya…I’m desperate for models. / Took a little work to mount the camera in the dash and eliminate any shake for the multiple exposure. A freshly paved road also helped! / If you can’t laugh at yourself…who can you laugh at? I meant to add this and forgot. This was my inspiration… My pappy said “Son your gonna drive me to drinkin’ / If you don’t stop driving that hot rod Lincoln” Have you heard the story of the hot rod race / Where the Fords and the Lincolns were setting the pace? / Well that story is true cause I’m here to say / I was driving that model A. It’s got a Lincoln motor and its really souped up / And that model A body makes it look like a pup / It’s got eight cylinders, uses them all / It’s got overdrive, just won’t stall It’s got a four barrel carb, and dual exhaust / With foureleven gears you can really get lost. / It’s got safety tubes, but I ain’t scared / Breaks are good, tires fair Pullin out of San Pedro late one night / With the moon and the stars just shinin bright / We was headed up grapevine Hill / Passing cars like they was standing still All of a sudden, in the wink of an eye / A Cadillac sedan passed us by / I said “Boys this ones marked for me” / But by then the tail lights was all you could see Now the fellas rid me for being behind / So I thought I’d let that Lincoln unwind / Took my foot of the gas and man alive / I shoved it on down into over drive Wound it up to 110 / My speedometer said I hit top end / My foot was glued like lead to the floor / That’s all there is, and there ain’t no more Now the boys all thought that I’d lost my sense / Those telephone poles looked like a picket fence / They said “Slow down, I see spots!” / The lines on the road just looked like dots Took a corner, side swiped a truck / Crossed my fingers just for luck / My fenders was clicking the guard rail post / The guy beside me was white as a ghost We had smoke coming from out of the back / When I started gainin on that Cadillac / I knew I could catch him, I thought I could pass / But don’t you know by then we’d be low on gas I had flames coming from out of the side / Feel the tension, man what a ride / I said “Look out boys, I’ve got a license to fly” / And that Caddy pulled over and let us by All of the sudden she started knocking / Down in the dips she started rocking / I looked in the mirror. Red lights were blinking / The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln – Damn The arrested me and they put me in jail / Called my pappy to throw my bail / And he said “Son, you’re going to drive me to drinkin’ / If you don’t stop driving that Hot Rod Lincoln” *lyrics by All

  • In a place as surreal as this, its hard not to day dream. This was taken at an ancient, monastery which was destroyed by Henry the eighth once upon a time. Sort of represents what i was feeling at this time, not this exact moment but this part of my life. Stopping for a second, trying to figure out where wanted to go, how i would get there. Taking a brief moment to reflect.

  • This is the sequel to The Approach It was captured at the same station in Shepparton, just facing in opposite directions! / Used a Sony Alpha with a 28 – 70mm in B&W mode. Post prod involved contrasting, a little “neating” and a slight crop to the bottom of the frame. / . / Art Folders… / / Entire Portfolio / Born From This Earth – Series / Hearts At War / Vehicular works / Architecture / Travel / B&W Photography / Transitional Industrial Utopian Series / Abstract / Models and Fashion Photography

  • I love fog I love the moon…what a fantastic dream to have them together… / One of my first double layers with Picasa,an experience I’ve tried, the moon is much to big but I liked the spooky mood…... :))....2 photos,a moon and a foggy night. The tittle came to me thinking about «Moonstruck» the movie with Sher when the old italian couple were looking outside the window by full moon .They were so much in love and it was so touching… / /

  • This was the best day of our Artic trip, we were so lucky to spend hours with this polar bear mum and cubs (there were actually two cubs but the other is out of shot). This cub was around seven months old and full of joy! / I really like the tender love the cub shows for its mum. / / (Spitzbergen – Scandinavian Arctic) / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

  • Lianne / wrote an amazing poem about the desert Desert Wanderings Are the rare oases enough to / sustain the desert nomad? / And where is the desert boundary – / would the journeyman perceive / its end, or like me, see Canaan / and think it only temporary respite – / can he see beauty where I see none, / sculpture where I see sand – / has he more praise for palm trees / than I for all of Canaan’s promise? Deserts are but dry expanses of the mind / the hypochondria boredom breeds, / unirrigated months, parched and barren / where there is naught to slake one’s thirst / and coolness only stones beneath one’s tongue, / monotonous thoughtscapes, uninspired / wishing for rivers, never neared mirages / and longings so undefined / that even prayer is sterile. What happens to dreams that die? / Are they reborn in other minds / nourished in more fertile ground – / do the sands that cover them / windshift / reviving them again, or are they / preserved, like dried straw flowers, / still rich in color / but sapless, too fragile now to grow?

  • I wish I could say that this photo was easy to do..but it wasn’t! / While it appears that I simply smeared my lipstick, it’s a bit more complicated than that. I started out by converting it to a B&W-blue filter-then curving it using the red channel only. I then blew it up to about 300%..and airbrushed the dark red paint on..(no less than 200 agonizing brush strokes!) / It was grueling-but fun. • This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Taken last week, standing in the basement looking up at the back door. More from the abandoned farmhouse series soon. :) And Happy New Year everyone!! / It’s 8:37 p.m. here. I get the feeling I’m the last sober one around here.(not for long…ha.) / / >featured< / sold: 2 mounted prints (RB artists) / / More from this series: / / Welcome Home / Tattered And Torn / Wild Horses / Watch Your Step / I Remember You / / /

  • With 6277 views 71 favouritings and 3 sales, this is probably by far my most popular image: / I shot it on my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot S80 compact in the main street of Kempsey NSW on a particularly trying road trip for work. It was a lucky shot, I just thought the billboard was a fairly self-reflexive thing to find in a rundown country town, but when this dejected guy limped into the shot it made it into a poignant statement. Having moved on in the equipment and (hopefully) skills aspects of my photographic practice due mainly to the encouragement I received here in the early days, I often look back at this image and see things I could improve with it. One of the assignments for a course I am doing is to convert an RGB image to greyscale. I’ve applied noise reduction, and unsharp mask, then tonal and exposure adjustments in the green channel. After converting to greyscale, I’ve despeckled it a bit and clone stamped out any larger specks that stand out more in greyscale. I’ve also cropped it a bit tighter and increased the resolution by decreasing the image size rather than interpolating. Wow, that was boring. Anyway, please enjoy the new mono version of Living. “You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake…” / / / / / / / /

I promised if it won I’d dedicate the image to her, and indeed it went on to win, so this is for you Alice :) Pay It Forward / I was also delighted to hear that his image was nominated for the prestigious Pay it Forward group by Alice Oates (above). Each person is allowed to nominate their absolute favorite work created by someone else on Redbubble – and they are only allowed to choose one, so it’s a huge honour to be selected. Thanks a million Alice!... ”I would like to nominate Dyin’ Alone by Donald Cameron because, as you can see in his description, he went ahead with his promise that he’d dedicate the image to me if he won a challenge I suggested he enter. Also, I think it’s a fantastic image in itself, and deserved said win.”
