Spring is FINALLY here!
A fading bloom in my backyard…
A dying bloom of a mum plant.. the petals were all curled up. Making it a bit more interesting….
A dandelion seed…

A tiny marigold bud against a blue background… I love the folds the petals make when they’re about to open.
Just something I did for a photo challenge on JPGmag.com and I thought I would post it up here. Enjoy!
/ “What We Want” is part of my Garden collection... Photography….as is… This is the result of my trying to alter my soil to get blue Hydrangeas...we are never satisfied wih what we have….my alkaline soil will not yield blue flowers even though this was a blue species to begin with…I can get any other colour including red and white, but no blue…so I messed with the soil and got a huge plant producing three different colours of flowers , blue, purple and pink with some individual flowers showing all three colours at the same time..I gave up and learned to love my hybrid…it has a charm of its own ... What we want / is never simple. / We move among the things / we thought we wanted: / a face, a room, an open book / and these things bear our names— / now they want us. / But what we want appears / in dreams, wearing disguises. / We fall past, / holding out our arms / and in the morning / our arms ache. / We don’t remember the dream, / but the dream remembers us. / It is there all day / as an animal is there / under the table, / as the stars are there / even in full sun. ...Linda Pastan
I can’t think of any good titles right now, haha… but this is a shot from a month ago of a tree in my front yard. The leaves were so intense and gorgeous. Enjoy!
In a mood for something different… (and Valentine’s Day coming!) Original photograph taken in July 2008 in Ballenberg Open Air Museum, Switzerland. Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, color pencils, hue, blend modes. For those who want to know: No ‘poster edges’ used, the effect came to life through the blend modes, namely ‘difference’ applied on the ‘color pencils’ layer.
absolutely gorgeous sunset after a hefty storm
