Hello to the redbubble community, wherever you are! I’ve only been ‘addicted’ to this new vice a little over a week – and already I’ve had to amend my computer directory structure to keep track of which images have been uploaded where. My flickr account images measure 1500×1000, whereas I realise that redbubble images need to stay at FULL size – which in my case measure 3888×2952. Fortunately I’d taken Easter on Kangaroo Island (a deceptively large island off the South West side of the Eyre Peninsula, across from Adelaide) where I’d shot an incredible amount of photographs (estimated at 2,500 based on “continuous count” function of Canon EOS 400D) These would have to be my favourite three images from my Easter Collection … which totals over 100 images uploaded! , , Feel free to peruse, enjoy AND PURCHASE my photographic art. I have a lot of work to go through – and upload. Thank the internet for unlimited broadband!

Hello Everyone..!! I’m Paul..!! I was born 43 Years ago, here in Knoxville Iowa.. and from a very young age, I’ve been interested in art and drawing.. I began with designs and things.. and started drawing vehicles in the late 80’s.. using magic markers and posterboard.. Later I graduated to colored pencils.. I drew several old cars and trucks, and began practicing different techniques.. and continued drawing into the late 90’s… Then I started getting into photography… Now I hit the car shows every chance I get, and enjoy travelling the countryside, looking for interesting things to capture..

I have finished moving in to my new place in Downtown Denver. Loving every turn. I was riding my bike yesterday and it felt great to bob and weave through the metropolis. / Recently looking through some urban photographs online I have encountered a new motivator. Though the shots may be hard to come by. It the age and weather of an individual that gives him that visual character. The skin the says on its own “i have seen things others have not”. This is what i am looking for. As for most of us, it will be realized at the moment. Never know what you have found or are looking for, until is right in front of you. Smiles all around.

The Nostalgic Art & Photography Group was in need of someone to take up the reigns, so Peter (el presidente of the good ship RedBubble), the lovely Taschja Hattingh from South Africa, and I have joined forces to co-host it. We are in the process of reviewing current work, putting some processes in place to ensure smooth running of admin issues, and will then be off and running with a fresh gallery of wonderful images featuring oft forgotten times, places, objects … To those on my watchlist, it should come as no surprise that all things nostalgic, vintage, and aged is right up my alley! Feel free to browse, join, make suggestions … would love to see you there!!!

OK. I’ve been concentrating on other things lately, well, other websites. I’ve started my own blog, Lo-fi Photography: the Lowdown (www.lofiphoto.wordpress.com) to sort of catalogue my thoughts, progression as a photographer and to remember all the neat tricks and mods I’ve learned. It’s been helpful to put things in writing as it makes you think about what you’ve done and where you’re going. I’ve also started a Flickr account and joined the JPG magazine family. These have all been very positive steps for me. Not that I dislike the Bubble because you are the most positive group I’ve met by far, but it can be discouraging at times if you’re not a digital photographer. I had to go away and come back when I felt like I had some truly worthy works. I feel like I’m getting a fuller grasp of the toy/vintage camera format and I’m able to get some macro shots, too, that I truly love.
