It’s a bit of a photographic cliche, but there’s something magical about an Umbrian valley filled with mist at sunrise.

Bad Nauheim is a town in the Wetteraukreis district of Hesse state of Germany. As of 2004, Bad Nauheim has a population of 30,365. The town is located approximately 35 kilometers (22 mi) north of Frankfurt am Main, on the east edge of the Taunus mountain range. It is a world-famous resort, noted for its salt springs, which are used to treat heart and nerve diseases. In the old town center of Bad Nauheim is the tithe barn at the gate to the castle: The barn was used by Elvis Presley as the motif of a record cover. Elvis Presley lived in Bad Nauheim during his time with the US Army in Friedberg. Other famous people whom have stayed in the town include Franklin Delano Roosevelt (As a boy, FDR had been taken for several extended visits to Bad Nauheim where his father underwent the water cure for his heart condition) and the Saudi Arabian football team during the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In addition, during World War II Hitler had a command complex in nearby Langenhain-Ziegenberg called Adlerhorst, “the Eagle’s Nest” (not to be confused with Kehlsteinhaus of Obersalzberg, which was never referred to as “the Eagle’s Nest” by the Nazis).

A shop front in East London
A candid street photography shot taken in London 2008
Some things you can hardly believe when you see them. I went to school as a structural engineer, and I have to say I’m amazed this house is standing. I went to some pains to make sure the image is vertical, and it’s definitely pretty close. So yes, that lamppost on the left really is leaning like that. This is just a scene captured while on the back streets of Nallihan in central Anatolia. Sometimes I feel like every door I see has a story behind it worth telling. If you look closely there’s a padlock keeping this one shut. What we’ll probably never know is … why?
Possibly my favorite photo that I’ve captured. Not sure exactly why. I don’t do a lot of street photography, but yesterday I decided to go out and see what I could find. This alleyway captured my attention. / I actually didn’t know the young man was in the frame when I shot the photo. He walked out from the back door of the shop for a cigarette, I saw a glimpse of him out the corner of my eye so I quickly shot the photo and left, it wasn’t until I got home that I noticed I captured him. / By the way, this is in Launceston behind the Quadrant Mall. For anyone who’s been to or lives in Launceston, you’ll know this looks nothing like Launceston. more like something from a completely different city, or even country. Edit 11/April/09 – I recently found out that this spot no longer exists, it’s been filled up with brick and turned into a room at the back of the cafe. I’m very grateful I was able to capture this when I did. thanks for viewing :)

My Town, USA I drove into Anderson, CA on November 1, 2008 to take a photo of My Town, USA……I think this pretty much depicts a normal, small town here in the USA………only ten miles south of Redding, CA on I-5; it was actually pouring down rain when I stopped in the middle of the street to shoot this….taken through my windshield. The base image was of such poor quality that I edited it in PhotoImpact to achieve this final state……I live in a rural area outside of town and we have only Oaks and Pines…..no trees that turn with the Autumn colors as this part of town…..I had to take a shot then, even though we were in the middle of a huge storm (first of the season); I knew if I waited and came back another time the leaves and that gorgeous color would be long gone. I hope you enjoy….. / ___ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. This quaint little scene is close to where I live in the town of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. I took this shot from the highest point in the town and tried to get as many roofs of historic buildings as possible in the shot. Originally settled circa 1801, Newmarket is now a sprawling urban settled which completely surrounds the old section of town.
