Wildwood, NJ when summer is gone…
This door was photographed in the small Anatolian town of Avanos, in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. I was attracted by the window arrangement at this house, and also the total lack of a front step. There is nothing cookie-cutter about Turkish towns, which makes for some intriguing photographs.
Reeshofpark, Tilburg. A photography turned into a digital painting. Having my daughter just picked up from her school on one Friday in November 2007, we ran through the local park to be in time for her ballet class. We were nearly too late, because in the park I couldn’t leave this lovely autumn scene behind me without taking a camera out of the bag! / I love it in big format, so this is a procedure how to make a nice print out of a photograph taken by a simple 2MB digital compact: / - photograph a lovely scene (important!) / - upload the file into your computer / - use software wisely to improve it. / What I did with this one: / - first, in Picasa: Feelin’ lucky, color temperature, sharpen, glow, gradtint / - second, in GIMP: scale, oilify, add frame if desired I hope you will like the result as much as I do. Comments and critiques very welcome :)
Took this picture while i was on a school trip to Switzerland. The film i was using overlapped on some images, but this one came out looking alright.

Title should be self evident and I cannot help but think of Queen’s song ‘We Will Rock You’ :) just a seascape photo to enjoy taken on the same beach as ‘Sea of Thoughts’ before high tide near Knysna (Brenton-on-Sea)... This is a photograph of the original Holm Town Nursery Holm Town Nursery Inc / 1301 30th Ave / Fairbanks, AK 99701 After viewing their website, I see they now have a new facility next to the older original greenhouse near the Mitchell Expressway. The Mitchell Expressway is also where I took many images of the beautiful Moose browsing on tender Willow shoots along the highway. If you are in the Fairbanks area, this is a wonderful place to see. I devoted many hours to photographing their beautiful florals. It is such a cool place, and they have beautiful garden ornaments and decorations. There is also Petunia’s Coffee Shop with delicious sandwiches, etc. Holm Town’s YEAR-ROUND store accommodates a fantastic selection of gardening-related gifts, healthy houseplants, lunch and Espresso at Petunia’s Coffee Shop and an extensive Indoor Gardening Department. More to come…. Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / My images do not belong to the public domain. Reproduction is strictly prohibited. Matted print without frame shown on the right – it is a modern sleek look without the added cost of custom framing and it looks great on any office or home wall. Also consider a loose glossy canvas as option to flat frame as you would with normal paper prints; the texture on a cotton canvas plus the fact that the larger the print (I have personally printed at sizes of up to 1.5 meter on satin semi gloss and glossy canvas) the more spectacular it looks and the texture compliments my art and the ethereal color tone extremely well, it also blends iso200 & iso400 noise so well that it has become a preference in some photos even if I could have used a much lower iso100 speed just for the added painterly effect the grain produces and ‘life’ of the fiber texture it gives prints printed this way – definitely an option I would recommend before considering any other cotton rag matte paper when a bigger size is preferred. Taken near the town of Springfontein "Springfontein is an important railway junction. The lines from Port Elizabeth and East London to Gauteng converge here while another line runs west to the diamond-producing town of Koffiefontein via Jagersfontein and Fauresmith. The town derives its name from a strong artesian spring on the farm Springfontein. Hartleydale, part of this farm, was chosen as the site for the new village in 1904. Municipal status was granted in 1912. Springfontein is situated 150km south-west of Bloemfontein on the N1. This towns history relates directly to the struggle, and especially to the hardships, of the Anglo-Boer War. Concentration Camp / This concentration camp was situated east of the town. During 1901 it was hit by a heavy snowstorm and many of the tents were damaged. Due to the severe winter the death rate were high in the camp. A total of 704 people, mainly children, died in the concentration camp. Concentration Camp Cemetery / The graves of over 700 Boer and British victims of the Anglo-Boer War buried in the same cemetery.” —-—-—-—-—-- / Matted print without frame shown on the right – it is a modern sleek look without the added cost of custom framing and it looks great on any office or home wall.
