While my scanner is on the blink I’ve been going through some of my photos taken while in Shanghai, China in 2006 and found a few with potential. I don’t think I’ll upload too many as photography isn’t one of my strong points, but it is fun to see what you can do with an image in photoshop. This one was taken while in a river traffic jam, our driver was a real character!

A couple of nights ago Matt (of Disenchanted Photography ) and I spent a couple of hours in his garage with the intention of experimenting with lighting and off camera flash. / We actually ended up shooting smoke trails for four hours and had a ball! / The experimentation with flash position, ISO and shutter speeds was very beneficial and I got alot out of the shoot! :D / / Check out this journal / / / / Art Folders… / / Entire Portfolio / Born From This Earth – Series / Hearts At War / Vehicular works / Architecture / Travel / B&W Photography / Transitional Industrial Utopian Series / Abstract / Models and Fashion Photography

In english the title is “Do you have fire”. This image was taken while loitering the streets of Naples/Italy one afternoon.I watched this man approach with his smoke unlit, i quickly put my camera too my face looked through viewfinder and snapped a couple of shots. I gave him a quick smile and his expression didn’t change…. I kept walking away glanced back and he was watching me with the same expression like what the….... Canon 1D ISO200 1/40@f3.5 50mm lens. Distance to subject was around 10-15 feet. enjoy.

Cyanotype of Lucky Strike #16. 4×5 neg captured with an antique Graflex Speed Graphic. (for those interested, a cyanotype is a print made by painting the solution directly onto paper, contact printing the negative by exposing it to sunlight and developing it in water. It is the ‘greenest’ of all photographic processes.)
