  • THIS WAS THE LAST PHOTO I TOOK OF OUR DAUGHTER BEFORE SHE LEFT IN THE CAR ON HER WAY TO THE CHURCH WITH HER DAD…....... And she is on her way, / The veil conceals a single tear, / Her Father holds a shaking hand / and the limousine pulls away. They talk of nothing really, / “You’ll always be my little girl”, he says, / as they pull into the Church, / and the veil conceals a single tear. The organist plays, and everyone stands, / This time she holds her Dad’s shaking hand, / There is no veil to conceal his tears, / and the longest walk of his life begins. “Who gives this Woman”, a nod of consent, / A secret glance, and exchange of vows, / For now and forever, for better for worse, / And she is on her way….........................

  • My First Wedding as official photographer. Thank you to Adrian and Zoe Terrace for having faith in me to take their photos on such as a special day. I will post more in the coming days. This photo is just something I believe is fantastic. The first emotion that comes to mind is that of love and trust everytime I look at this shot.

  • Image for a challenge using plain white paper. Using long exposure and torchlight to light the area, this is what I came up with. exp – 8 seconds / f3.5 / iso 80 / FL 31mm / eveready torch with piano certificate held in front to diffuse the torchlight, only other props include sticky tape and one sheet of plain white photocopy paper, and lots of patience. At one stage, a rotating multi-coloured disco light was involved, but this was soon abandoned due to the law of physics/light not matching the image in my head :(

  • A wedding in the wilds…...

  • Having gone out to capture some shots of the roman city of Bath I was approached for “bus fare” by the man in this shot. I suggested that if I was to do him a favour maybe he could do me one and allow me to take some pictures, which he did. Turns out his girlfriend was a pro wedding photographer in a former life and he was a silversmith. What we learn when we just take the time to talk to people – this was by all accounts a lifestyle choice for them. Canon EOS450D; ISO1600; 50mm; 1/2500sec / Time19:34 / Date 7th June
