These photographs taken throughout the year show the changing moods of the Bogey Hole in Newcastle, Australia. It is a colonial era pool built by convicts for the first lieutenant governor of Newcastle.
From the lower Hunter coastline on Australia’s east coast to the endangered bush hinterland of Stockton Bight the sun is setting on nature for perhaps the last time. In the path of extractive industry this is a swansong for the fragile environment of Stockton Bight that now more than ever needs to be conserved for all time and for all creatures.
