Canon Powershot with IR filter “As Is” / Brandywine Falls Ohio / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. This is the sequel to The Approach It was captured at the same station in Shepparton, just facing in opposite directions! / Used a Sony Alpha with a 28 – 70mm in B&W mode. Red Bubble’s First Book /// In the Moment /// Overall Winner / I found myself in Geneva for a week for work last year. The only other time I had been to Switzerland was Zurich for 2 nights in the middle of winter, so I was kind of surprised by the beautiful (and hot!) summer weather I experienced on this visit. / The Lake at Geneva is where everyone goes to cool off and I was mesmerised watching all these crazy dudes doing amazing things off a high-dive on the edge of the lake. I took a few shots and managed to capture this moment among them. / I entered this work into the 2007 Linden Gallery Post Card Show in St.Kilda, and was absolutely stoked to have been awarded one of the six entries to be reproduced as postcards and sold through the gallery.

The last remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, South Australia. Port Willunga Beach was recently named as the only Australian location in ‘Travel and Leisure’ magazine – hip travel list of emerging destinations. I wish I could say that this photo was easy to do..but it wasn’t! / While it appears that I simply smeared my lipstick, it’s a bit more complicated than that. I started out by converting it to a B&W-blue filter-then curving it using the red channel only. I then blew it up to about 300%..and airbrushed the dark red paint on..(no less than 200 agonizing brush strokes!) / It was grueling-but fun. (And thanks to everyone who’s commented, favourited & purchased this! This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. This is an image created to illustrate an environmental portrait of an old camera called a “speed graphic”... the whole scene is meant to tell a story of a time when this camera was in use. I hope you enjoy this marvelous piece of photographic history. Here are some beautifully fitting words by Wayne Cook It’s setting atop my desk, / Bit dusty, but the bellows are still pliable, / Haven’t shot anything in it, / More than 20 years, / Maybe 30…. / Oh, but the negs…. / Glorious things, / Like still nuggets in reverse / I’d shine that enlarger through one…. / Whew…. those celluloids, / Never lost my awe, / The figures almost came to life, / There on the table. / Something about that lifeless frame, / I swear it moves when I turn my back. / Breaks my heart to leave it lay, / But the film…oh, god, it breaks the bank!
