  • It was an incredibly warm December. High winds and storms had delayed my meeting, so I spent the afternoon with my camera, searching the streets for the perfect photos. Lunch had been a bit of french food, served on my backpack while sitting on the outcropping on the south end of central park. I’d only just finished dinner, falafel from a stand on the street, when I looked up. I could see the Top of the Rock up there, with blue light streaming up the building. The perfect photo.

  • This photo was taken from under the Brooklyn Bridge looking at Manhattan.

  • The lights of New York City fly past the viewer.

  • I noticed subtle color striations scattered through this water flow, and wondered if I could capture the effect with my camera. Taking several macro shots, I managed to have caught some distinct variations in a couple of the pics. All artwork is © Rhonda L. Hall, All Rights Reserved. • We can’t just pack up what’s left of our environment and remaining life forms and move them to a better spot, we have to save what we’ve got! If you look closely you may see a figure wrapping what’s left of our blue planet in a package to be carried off to a distant world that resembles our Earth. Behind him is Earth’s stripped terrain. You might catch a glimpse of a waterfall with a human face in it, and suggestions of various life forms within the wrapping and spilling out of it as well… All artwork is © Rhonda L. • He loved her through life, / though she married another. / He loved her still, / though he passed on without her. He waited in unrest / for her spirit to join him, / though she now lies in peace / beside her hearts only true owner. All artwork is © Rhonda L. Hall, All Rights Reserved. • Hudson Terrace, Fort Lee, New Jersey / © jc warburton 09, Nikon D90,Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3.5 – 5.6 VR lens The GWB, upper level, opened for traffic on Oct. 25th, 1931. The lower level, referred to as “Martha”, LOL, was opened in 1962. It’s a beautiful suspension bridge connecting Washington Heights, Bronx, New York to Fort Lee, New Jersey. There’s a walkway on the north and south side of this suspension bridge and it’s not a walk for the faint of heart. The guard rail comes up just a bit higher than waist level and it’s not solid. I could actually imagine a small child slipping through and falling off this bridge. You can’t take any bridge photos while on the bridge except at the halfway mark. There’s security at both ends, in the middle, and an officer on a bicycle who goes back and forth. The bridge is owned and run by the Port Authority of New York, New Jersey.

  • ... otherwise known as General Sherman. That’s gilded bronze covered in pigeon poop. The statue stands on a granite pedestal. I think the pigeon droppings add a nice touch, don’t you? Central Park East, New York City. Nikon D90,Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3.5 – 5.6 VR lens. Tone mapping effect added.
