Peafowl can refer to the two species of bird in the genus Pavo of the pheasant family, Phasianidae. The African Congo Peafowl is placed in its own genus Afropavo and is not dealt with here. Peafowl are best known for the male’s extravagant tail, which it displays as part of courtship. The male is called a peacock, the female a peahen, though it is common to hear the female also referred to as a peacock or female peacock. The female peafowl is brown or toned grey and brown.

fly boy, / a blue orchid / young, handsome / brave That’s a photo of my dad after he’d earned his ‘wings’. He joined the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as soon as he could after finishing school, so he could be a fighter pilot and join the millions of men world wide who were ‘in uniform’, and fight in World War Two. He often regaled us with wonderful stories of his early days of flight training, flying underneath telephone wires or bridges, crashing a plane and writing it off, but walking away to tell the tale, and of all the country towns where he was stationed. / And the day he finally was presented with his wings was one of the proudest days in his life. However, he would never fire a shot in anger, for Peace was declared as he was flying over Borneo, to the north-west of Australia. There is much more to tell, but that is for later.
Causal portraits of friends, Taken on Polaroid 665 neg/print film. These R the original fotos with all their scratches & blemishes included when scanned. Only digital alteration is the addition of sepia to tone the fotos. Which no doubt I would have done so had I ever got around 2 printing these negs on paper. Well, that´s another story.
