I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

Even though it’s starting to wither, this rose is just as beautiful today as yesterday. Featured in The Grunge Art Gallery November 08.
Cause it’s not nice to shoot people with guns. A cool shirt for any filmmaker or photographer! Please support a starving artist by buying one. :)
I think I am mainly putting this up so I can buy it for myself one day. I do so many shoots for free, it’s a shock to get ones that actually pay a little. Ah, the life of a ‘struggling artist’. I am sure you all know what it’s like.
I did a number of versions of this still life – in the end I closed my eyes and chose one at random! One does get a tad jaded after looking at these images for too long! Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM
You can always tell a man by his hands…they can be rough, tough and dirty…but if they are gentle enough to grace a rose, than you know you found a winner! Pentax K10D A beautiful poem written by Dalton Sayre / Clasped in hands so strong / Petals bright and sweet / In contrast to the mines / So dark and full of heat This blessing Gaia gives / To those who take time out / To stop and smell the roses / And love instead of shout So hear the plea I offer up / To cloud and sky above / As I kneel on Mother Earth / As gentle as a dove I thank you for your bounty / And all that you provide / For roses blooming up above / And the ore you keep inside I know how much you care for us / Although you bear our scars / For unto us doth spill the light / Of sun and moon and stars
Experimenting with a very simple vintage effect … if you like it, I’ll post a tutorial. The process requires layers and while I did it in photoshop, I can’t see why it wouldn’t work in Elements. It is very effective on portraits also. This art started out as a photograph of a black-capped chickadee sitting on a cedar tree branch in the woods behind our home. / After several hours in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand to give the image a painted look. All of the miniature wild roses were created from scratch. / DETAIL CROP / / Canvas Print / / Flat Black Frame & Bright White Matting / / Fine Art Gallery / Bird Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

One of my all time favourite songs / a Canon A540 Powershot / a tiny halogen downlight / and me…. Kiss From A Rose – Seal
A tribute to Janis Joplin / Canon A540 Powershot / Me / My guitar The Rose – Bette Midler Some say love, it is a river / That drowns the tender reed / Some say love, it is a razor / That leaves your soul to bleed Some say love, it is a hunger / An endless, aching need / I say love, it is a flower / And you, it’s only seed It’s the heart, afraid of breaking / That never learns to dance / It’s the dream, afraid of waking / That never takes the chance It’s the one who won’t be taken / Who cannot seem to give / And the soul afraid of dyin’ / That never learns to live When the night has been too lonely / And the road has been too long / And you think that love is only / For the lucky and the strong Just remember, in the winter / Far beneath the bitter snows / Lie the seed, that with the sun’s love / In the spring, becomes the rose…
