This is the sequel to The Approach It was captured at the same station in Shepparton, just facing in opposite directions! / Used a Sony Alpha with a 28 – 70mm in B&W mode. Red Bubble’s First Book /// In the Moment /// Overall Winner / I found myself in Geneva for a week for work last year. The only other time I had been to Switzerland was Zurich for 2 nights in the middle of winter, so I was kind of surprised by the beautiful (and hot!) summer weather I experienced on this visit. / The Lake at Geneva is where everyone goes to cool off and I was mesmerised watching all these crazy dudes doing amazing things off a high-dive on the edge of the lake. I took a few shots and managed to capture this moment among them. / I entered this work into the 2007 Linden Gallery Post Card Show in St.Kilda, and was absolutely stoked to have been awarded one of the six entries to be reproduced as postcards and sold through the gallery.

This was the best day of our Artic trip, we were so lucky to spend hours with this polar bear mum and cubs (there were actually two cubs but the other is out of shot). I wish I could say that this photo was easy to do..but it wasn’t! / While it appears that I simply smeared my lipstick, it’s a bit more complicated than that. I started out by converting it to a B&W-blue filter-then curving it using the red channel only. I then blew it up to about 300%..and airbrushed the dark red paint on..(no less than 200 agonizing brush strokes!) / It was grueling-but fun. (And thanks to everyone who’s commented, favourited & purchased this! This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Dedicated to my father who passed away 9/15/08. Ephemeral: Lasting only one day. Lasting a very short time. I created this using various old images I had laying around and played with it in Photoshop. I almost feel like I should have a poem written for this piece, but alas, i am not a writer! Meg had fun posing, and Nanna had fun with the processing! Created with two photos and a few layers. Extracted the background from the legs, desaturated the colours, overlaid a photo of a texture and blended the background image through.
