Usually a tag team like this isn’t really fair, but somehow I think that Mama Tiger can handle herself with these two. :) It’s nice to see tiger breeding programs in action, as tigers are on the critically endangered list. Unfortunately, these beautiful animals are the white bengal variant, which is not found naturally in the wild and is a product of the white tiger breeding trade. These beautiful and innocent tiger cubs were not bred by the zoo; rather, the mother tiger was rescued from a breeder and she was already pregnant when the zoo rescued her. In fact, the American Zoological Association prohibits its members from acquiring and breeding white tigers because the rate of genetic defects is high and the white tiger trade engages in terribly unethical practices. I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Taken last week, standing in the basement looking up at the back door. More from the abandoned farmhouse series soon. :) And Happy New Year everyone!! / It’s 8:37 p.m. here. This is the sequel to The Approach It was captured at the same station in Shepparton, just facing in opposite directions! / Used a Sony Alpha with a 28 – 70mm in B&W mode. In the Moment /// Overall Visual Art Winner / I found myself in Geneva for a week for work last year. The only other time I had been to Switzerland was Zurich for 2 nights in the middle of winter, so I was kind of surprised by the beautiful (and hot!) summer weather I experienced on this visit. / The Lake at Geneva is where everyone goes to cool off and I was mesmerised watching all these crazy dudes doing amazing things off a high-dive on the edge of the lake. I took a few shots and managed to capture this moment among them. / I entered this work into the 2007 Linden Gallery Post Card Show in St.Kilda, and was absolutely stoked to have been awarded one of the six entries to be reproduced as postcards and sold through the gallery.
