The subject of Secrets of Paradise… is the guide of the soul who in Jungian terms is called the anima. She is the angel, the heroine, the goddess who shines through the psychological darkness like a bright sky beckoning the beholder to follow their dream, risk the passage, and at all costs continue the quest. The adorning Peacock feather is symbolic of royalty and potency. In alchemy the peacock is cousin to the Phoenix, the mythical bird who rises from the ashes. The central theme of the image is the feminine eye, focused, a visionary awareness that resides in the human psyche; the third eye. Photography based mixed medium processed image.

The phoenix represents vision and open views. It is one of the four celestial creatures. The phoenix lives in the south and is associated with fire energy. The phoenix has yin energy. It will have a positive effect if placed near the front door when your views are obstructed by fences or other properties.

The grass is always greener on the other side…right? / / Just a photo I snapped while we were driving through Phoenix this weekend. I thought it kinda resembled the grass and sky (well, the colours help). It’s like our own urban lawn of sorts that you can only really see from a distance. / / Feb 08, Phoenix / / A poem was written by one of my personal favorites: sometimes green sometimes blue by the extremely talented Yasemin Sumner / / check her out! / /

The Phoenix arrives a fabulous bird that periodically regenerated itself, used in literature as a symbol of death and resurrection. According to legend, the phoenix lived in Arabia; when it reached the end of its life (500 years), it burned itself on a pyre of flames, and from the ashes a new phoenix arose. As a sacred symbol in Egyptian religion, the phoenix represented the sun, which dies each night and rises again each morning. According to Herodotus the bird was red and golden and resembled an eagle. Acrylics on paper

Amanda Bruckner the former Miss Ireland in Ricky Corrs never released masterpiece short “I am River Phoenix”. The story is covered in Marilyn in the Movies and it was my first film as a stills photographer. / I have the rights to the photographs by the way in case anybody is asking. Or you can ask Ricky. I am hoping that someday Ricky will finish this film as though it was an unmitigated disaster due to the camera operator framing Ricky and other members of the crew into the edges of scenes I think that it might add to the overall madness of a young Dublin businesswoman passing out in the back of a Taxi just as the news of River Phoenix’s tragic death comes over the radio and subsequently waking up as River Phoenix. Brilliant! Below and all around is Dublin with the River Liffey resembling cellulite below. You can also see O’Connell Bridge in the mid ground and the arched footbridge which is the famous Ha’penny Bridge to be found on all postcards of Dublin without fail.
