Every 100 years a phenomena takes place on the desert world Shell in the Ovali System.It brings photographers,artists and watchers from across the Cosmos. / For about a month a giant planet appears in the evening sky,if you go off world,its not in space.The planet also seems to have no substance,it can be seen though. / The speculation runs rampant,one thought believed by many,is that its a window to another dimension. / We may never know!.

Concept 1 of 4. Title inspired by a Kate Bush song of the same name – from her 1977 album “The Kick Inside”, which I happend to be listening to while working on these images. I used the Polar Coordinates filter in Photoshop, which became the base image for the the 4 creations in this series. / /

Summer surprised us with some fog this morning (05-01-09), and she also graced us with this wonderful fog bow. This image was taken in Mount Barker near the base of Mount Barker Summit overlooking the Princes Highway.

Since the summer of 1957 it has been quietly probing the depths of space, a symbol of our wish to understand the universe in which we live. Even now, it remains one of the biggest and most powerful radio telescopes in the world, spending most of its time investigating cosmic phenomena which were undreamed of when it was conceived.

Moon totally immersed in the long dark shadow of the Earth, only visible as a dark reddish disk.

Piazza del Duomo (square) at dusk with mammatus clouds lit by the setting sun (Milano, Italy). These interesting clouds were appearing continuously to my right and marched across the dimming sky while growing in size and brightness.

the next in a little series of a particular and very high key rainbow event in my garden…. it had been raining for days and the sky was just such a petulant colour and then a burst of sun from somewhere and the colours in the sky just changed from pink to indigo and the rainbow itself was almost white…... then the film was dealt with carelessly and scanned in an incorrect profile…. so their all a bit ever so slightly just not quite right…... which is half the fun of rainbows I reckon….. / . /

another in these particular set of images of a very high key rainbow event one afternoon here in austinmer…. the rainbow it’s self was almost colourless and the sky just seemed to go from one deep pastel tone to another …. very beautiful and the colours here have not been oversaturated in pshop…. they are as it was…the light was so bright and rich / . /

I have previously posted a pink version of this image… it was the first one of this particular set of images that I uploaded a few days ago…. this is the blue version…. but I haven’t fiddled with it… when I had the film processed I had the images scanned straight on to a CD but in the end wasn’t that pleased with the scans so I redid them but with a d ifferent profile…. so the version of this image that is pink came from the film lab and the version of this image that is blue came from my own scanner… such a big difference I almost can’t believe it…. but images have been slightly cleaned up and resized in Photoshop but that is all the work that has been done to them / . / / . /
