  • The original title of this, was Ten Miles High – which is probably as close to space as I will ever get. It is the sunlight reflected off the icepack somewhere near the Labrador coast, and was taken when everyone else on the airplane seemed to be asleep. In the picture, though RB possibly will not be able to show it large enough, just left of centre, are a number of lightning bolts. Now, Ive seen lightning from the ground many a time, and it is, for me, a humbling and spine tingling feeling to watch natures might unleash itself on the world. I feel so very insignificant when I realise that there, very small, is something I am in awe of. Every time I look at this, I ask myself, am I worthy? Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? I am not religious, but more spiritual, and tend to take the best from different belief systems in order to live my life as well as I can. So, no view such as this should be denied the world, or kept to myself, or lost. Please take the time to view it large, and to study it in every detail – take from it what you will, and interpret it for yourself. I would love to hear how you, the viewers, feel about this image. Thankyou again for viewing over the past 12 months

A worldwide recession is a very rare event and it has money matters on everybody’s mind. As anyone who has browsed my sight or read any of my comments knows I like reading the Bible. Might be why I don’t get many comments anymore compared to the first several months of my being on the Bubble…oh well, I don’t care, just part of my ’ torture stake ’. (2 Tim. 3:12) Nonetheless, I thought I would post a journal sharing a few things the Bible says about money. (When you see YOU in all caps it indicates a group of readers as opposed to a single reader. Not personally yelling at anyone.) The New World Translation was used for this post. You can read this translation online at the link provided at the bottom of this post. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- (Ezekiel 7:19) . . .“‘Into the streets they will throw their very silver, and an abhorrent thing their own gold will become. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s fury. . . . (Psalm 49:6-7) . . .Those who are trusting in their means of maintenance, And who keep boasting about the abundance of their riches, 7 Not one of them can by any means redeem even a brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him. . . (Proverbs 11:4) . . .Valuable things will be of no benefit on the day of fury, but righteousness itself will deliver from death. . . (Proverbs 18:11) . . .The valuable things of the rich are his strong town, and they are like a protective wall in his imagination. . . (Proverbs 28:20) . . . A man of faithful acts will get many blessings, but he that is hastening to gain riches will not remain innocent. . . (Ecclesiastes 5:10) . . .A mere lover of silver will not be satisfied with silver, neither any lover of wealth with income. This too is vanity. . . (Zephaniah 1:18) . . .Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s fury. . . (Hebrews 13:5) . . . Let [YOUR] manner of life be free of the love of money, while YOU are content with the present things. . . . (1 Timothy 6:9-10) . . .However, those who are determined to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many senseless and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. 10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have been led astray from the faith and have stabbed themselves all over with many pains. (1 Timothy 6:17-19) . . .Give orders to those who are rich in the present system of things not to be high-minded, and to rest their hope, not on uncertain riches, but on God, who furnishes us all things richly for our enjoyment; 18 to work at good, to be rich in fine works, to be liberal, ready to share, 19 safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, in order that they may get a firm hold on the real life. (Matthew 6:19-20) . . .Stop storing up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (Matthew 6:24) . . .“No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. YOU cannot slave for God and for Riches. . . (Luke 12:16-21) . . .With that he [Jesus] spoke an illustration to them, saying: “The land of a certain rich man produced well. 17 Consequently he began reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, now that I have nowhere to gather my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my storehouses and build bigger ones, and there I will gather all my grain and all my good things; 19 and I will say to my soul: “Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, enjoy yourself.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Unreasonable one, this night they are demanding your soul from you. Who, then, is to have the things you stored up?’ 21 So it goes with the man that lays up treasure for himself but is not rich toward God.. . . (John 12:6) . . .He [Judas Iscariot] said this, though, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief and had the money box and used to carry off the monies put in it. (Acts 8:18-20) . . .Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the hands of the apostles the spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying: “Give me also this authority, that anyone upon whom I lay my hands may receive holy spirit.” 20 But Peter said to him: “May your silver perish with you, because you thought through money to get possession of the free gift of God. . . (2 Corinthians 8:9) . . .For YOU know the undeserved kindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich he became poor for YOUR sakes, that YOU might become rich through his poverty. . . (1 Timothy 6:7-8) . . .For we have brought nothing into the world, and neither can we carry anything out. 8 So, having sustenance and covering, we shall be content with these things. . . (James 2:1-4) . . .My brothers, YOU are not holding the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, our glory, with acts of favoritism, are YOU? 2 For, if a man with gold rings on his fingers and in splendid clothing enters into a gathering of YOU, but a poor [man] in filthy clothing also enters, 3 yet YOU look with favor upon the one wearing the splendid clothing and say: “You take this seat here in a fine place,” and YOU say to the poor one: “You keep standing,” or: “Take that seat there under my footstool,” 4 YOU have class distinctions among yourselves and YOU have become judges rendering wicked decisions, is that not so? (1 John 2:16-17) . . .the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever. (Proverbs 10:22) . . .The blessing of Jehovah—that is what makes rich, and he adds no pain with it. . . (Jeremiah 9:23-24) 23 This is what Jehovah has said: “Let not the wise man brag about himself because of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man brag about himself because of his mightiness. Let not the rich man brag about himself because of his riches.” 24 “But let the one bragging about himself brag about himself because of this very thing, the having of insight and the having of knowledge of me, that I am Jehovah, the One exercising loving-kindness, justice and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I do take delight,” is the utterance of Jehovah. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures Online —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Scripture Blog A blog that posts a daily text from the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. • Glencar Falls, Co. Sligo, Ireland. / Another of my back catalogue images. Glencar Waterfall is situated 11km west of Manorhamilton, and served as an inspiration to Willam Butler Yeats and is mentioned in his poem “The Stolen Child”. The poem was first published in the Irish Monthly in December 1886, and was set to music and recorded by Loreena McKennitt on her 1985 debut album Elemental. The waterfall is impressive and can be viewed from a lovely wooded walk For the Poetic…..... WHERE dips the rocky highland / Of Sleuth Wood in the lake, / There lies a leafy island / Where flapping herons wake / The drowsy water rats; / There we’ve hid our faery vats, / Full of berrys / And of reddest stolen cherries. / Come away, O human child! / To the waters and the wild / With a faery, hand in hand, / For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. Where the wave of moonlight glosses / The dim gray sands with light, / Far off by furthest Rosses / We foot it all the night, / Weaving olden dances / Mingling hands and mingling glances / Till the moon has taken flight; / To and fro we leap / And chase the frothy bubbles, / While the world is full of troubles / And anxious in its sleep. / Come away, O human child! / To the waters and the wild / With a faery, hand in hand, / For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. Where the wandering water gushes / From the hills above Glen-Car, / In pools among the rushes / That scare could bathe a star, / We seek for slumbering trout / And whispering in their ears / Give them unquiet dreams; / Leaning softly out / From ferns that drop their tears / Over the young streams. / Come away, O human child! / To the waters and the wild / With a faery, hand in hand, / For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. Away with us he’s going, / The solemn-eyed: / He’ll hear no more the lowing / Of the calves on the warm hillside / Or the kettle on the hob / Sing peace into his breast, / Or see the brown mice bob / Round and round the oatmeal chest. / For he comes, the human child, / To the waters and the wild / With a faery, hand in hand, / For the world’s more full of weeping than he can understand.
