Originally shot on velvia in available light and if you look really closely the model has a camera in her crotch. :) / This is a companion image to “Bloom” these look really good framed. hint hint :)

After finishing my Lolita Tako-Chan I realized I had a perfectly good dress design I was going to do nothing with…so I decided to make another porcelain doll. Also I wanted to define the term for those that didn’t know. :3 Lolita (ロリータ・ファッション, ? roriita fasshon) is a fashion subculture in Japan that is primarily influenced by Victorian children’s clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period. Lolita has made this into a unique fashion by adding gothic and original design elements to the look. From this, Lolita fashion has evolved into several different sub styles and has created a devoted subculture in Japan. The Lolita look consists primarily of a knee length skirt or dress, headdress, blouse, petticoat, knee length socks or stockings and rocking horse or high heel/platform shoes. Magnets: /

After much hot, wet weather, our garden was dotted with mushrooms. I photographed them each night after work as they grew daily over a week, sometimes resorting to lying on belly under a brolly! / The underside of the mushroom top reminds me of a 50’s rockabilly skirt, with its multitude of petticoats. / So where are the dancing faeries?! Featured in the Up Close & Personal Calendar for 2009!

I took a few photos of this beautiful daffodil and when I downloaded them to my computer, this one surprised me: if you look at the larger size, you will see the center (stamens) is quite unfocussed, but, the petticoat is fairly well focussed. I’d love to know how I managed this, as I had the camera focussed squarely on the stamens!!!! Any suggestion are most welcome. Thanks for looking, I hope you like it. I’ll post a pic of the whole flower in the next couple of days. All comments and criticisms are appreciated.
