As most of you know I rescued Dolly Marie, our pet squirrel, when she was abandoned by her mother and she is not living in the wild and has babies of her own. She comes to visit most days and get her supply of nuts from my hand. Well, today I received a call from a asking if I would rescue two orphaned raccoons! Their mother was killed several days ago, and yesterday two of their siblings disappeared. Of course, I went right over there and brought these two little darlings home:) They will live in a hutch in our garage throughout the winter while we feed them and get them healthy and large enough to release them this coming spring. Jack gave them each their monikers, Ranger and Bandit (because of their black masks). I’m so excited the chronicle their rescue with stories and photos! Perhaps I will upload a few stories and photos to RB from time to time. / FEATURED

December 25 Trinity will be 1 yr with my wife and I. Trinity has turned out to be a wonderful joy and a bundle of love! She was abused as a puppy and tossed about from owner to owner caged and mistreated. We took her in and worked with her gave love and patience in return Trinity has returned to us joy and love with no conditions – Trinity is one awesome puppy!

This was a local shopping centre petshop, where the puppies and boy seem instantly attracted to each other. / Can’t verify this, but I was recently told the puppies which don’t sell, are shot by the owners when they become too large (to be cute anymore, I suppose). / The trouble with petshop puppies is, they sell for ludicrous amounts ( I once heard a man being quoted $800 for a boxer pup) without pedigree papers. I’ve never bought a pedigree animal, but I should think I would be paying about the same money for a guaranteed pedigree. / The Animal Welfare League sell their pups for $100 (last time I was there!) which is about the same as it will cost to desex a pup anyway (they are already desexed). / The petshop pups were wormed and desexed, as well. / These are border collie cross: / / / /

I also met Mark today in the Petshop – this was to be a shot of the young Love Bird (with no name yet) – but I couldn’t resist taking this one of it pulling his hair! Thanks to them both for the great pose and permission to put on Redbubble.
