  • This is a self portrait of me when I was about sixteen to eighteen years of age, not really sure when. It’s the only shot I have of me, and I had this up as my avatar for some time and took it down, but I wanted to put a face behind the artist. You all have a wonderful day and I wish you the best of luck with your work.

Bonita’s “Featured Person Of The Week” Mark Peterson !http://images-3.redbubble.com/img/...

Bonita’s “Featured Person Of The Week” Mark Peterson Mark Peterson…..................... Let me introduce you all to Mark Peterson! I found him out here today and wow …....... he has some awesome talent ! I sincerely hope that each of you will go and check him out ! I can assure you that you WILL NOT be disappointed….. Mark says: “Im a self taught artist with a passion for animals. About ten years ago I discovered digital and have been hooked on it every since. I believe art is an extension of ourselves that should have no limitations, no boundaries, and the willingness to experiment and express in various unrestricted ways. Im Also a big fan of abstract and I value the experience that art allows me to constantly see with a new pair of glasses. My most valuable tool is my imagination. With no art schooling under my belt I stand with the belief that success is all in what you make it. We are all unique with no two perceptions being the same, yet all driven with a similar passion. Art is an experience of individuality that can’t be expressed in words, yet our visions can be shared with the world. My journey through art is one that leads me to great self discovery, and an education of a life time. My altered reality becomes the truth I seek, and the embodiment of my soul. With art I will always be free.” Be sure and stop by and tell him I sent ya ! Im sure he will appreciate you all more than you could know ! Its up to each of us to help one another and get us all out there ! Thanks again ! Hugs to each of you and have a wonderful day!!!!! Bonita

  • A90Six interviewed Sandra (Sigfusson)
    by A90Six

The Interview with Sandra Sigfusson: !http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/size:small/...

The Interview with Sandra Sigfusson: / Mushroom Tower / Beaded Web / Serenade / Pink Neon / Interwoven Guitars / Puppy Eyes How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life? / I’ve had an interest in photography for many years, but it has only been the last 2 years that I’ve picked up my camera usage and entered the digital photography age. I think that with digital I am more expressive with my images, more open to the possiblities, which in turn has had a very positive affect on my life. I realized, for me anyway, that viewing the world around me throught the lens of a camera has made me see there is more to life than just the broad sense of my existance. The pieces in the center of a flower were never so interesting to me until I saw them through the lens, and thus I now view everything with my natural eyes in a whole new way – I’ve learned to appreciate the details. What advice can you give someone just beginning their creative path? / Explore, explore, explore. Always be willing to learn. My best sucesses in learning are in finding other artists I admire and mimic their style for the sake of learning, rather than to specifically copy them. Artists have taken their inspiration from those who succeeded before them for hundreds of years. Learn what makes what they do so special and then find a way to use that knowledge to forge your own style. Tell us about a person or moment that has made your time on RedBubble particularly special or meaningful? / I was invited to join the Red Bubble group by a very dear friend (A90Six) and I was smitten with the site and their attitudes toward artistry immediately. A90six has been an inspiration to me both artistically and personally for quite some time and his invitation to join RB was yet another brilliant idea. I’d have to say that I’ve never been more inspired than I am now after spending time to view the incredible array of talent that his here. Red Bubble is by far the most respectfully run site I’ve encountered as an artist – they do truly seem to be here for us. What do you hope others will get from your art? / This is the toughest question for me to answer. I don’t know that I’ve thought of my photographs that way. If I had to give you an answer today, it would be that my work pleases their eye. I’m not a solid technical artist yet, so my current focus is on pleasing the visual senses on a more simplistic level. I aspire to be technically sound in the very near future which will allow me to take my visions through a camera lens to the next level. Show & tell us about five works on RedBubble that have moved or inspired you? / It is so hard to narrow it down to just 5 artists – wow. I mean seriously, the variety of talent on this site is simply mind blowing. A90Six is my first pick because of his inate ability to see the richness of what he photographs before he even points his camera in that direction. He has the ability to make even the simplist things look amazing and I am truly inspired by that in him. My all time favourtie shot of his is “The Square”. / / It’s like he stepped back in time to capture this amazing moment – truly captivating scene. My second pick would be Mark Peterson. Mark is a visionary artist who takes his images to a surreal and intensely ornate and rich level that I adore. His work reminds me of the tapestries I’ve seen in the Louvre in Paris, drenched in detail and texture, much like life itself. / / This is one of many of Mark’s images that I love: My third choice would be Peter Marin. My favourite image of his is Beach Planet. / / I have been fascinated and experimenting recently with polar coordinates, and this image of Peter’s just blew me away. Peter is a very well rounded photographer/artist. His pieces are incredibly detailed, wonderfully framed and his sense & vision of beauty is truly inspiring to me. I also love his variety of subject matter – he seems to have no boundaries to his talent. One of my all-time favourite images here on Red Bubble right now is a photo by Basia McAuley. / / This is such a brilliant capture – I love the moody treatment and the beauty of the moment. It is to me, hauntingly beautiful. I aspire to capture moments like this with my own lens in time. One artist who I adored, who is no longer on this site, is British photographer Douglas Black. His nude works were absolutely outstanding. He understood the human form and photographed it in ways that were more than just beautiful, they were sensual, tateful, elegant. I wish he would return.
