  • This is my friend, Pete’s place. It is located somewhere out of Seymour, Victoria and is some very gorgeous rocky country. The day we were there we some of the most spectacularly changable weather and this was taken late in the afternoon when the atmosphere had this warm glow.

  • Shot from British rock star Pete Doherty in Lyon / France (February 2008).

  • You’ll notice I’ve gone all digital these last few shots, well, this is because developing 120 here in London, is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive now, and unless Sarge pays me more, I can’t afford it, and will have to bring all my rolls of film back and have them done next time I’m in Melbourne. So, I did the unthinkable and messed with some PS filters for this. TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE FILM. Sorry.

  • Wow, I’m really scraping the bottom of the barrel pulling this thing out of mothballs! This little bitty was painted quite some time ago (I’m not sure exactly how long but I think Bill Clinton was still in office) It is the result of a lot of extra oil paint laying around, no brushes, no life, and a splitting headache. It’s also quite good at giving people headaches…go figure.

  • “Behind Blue Eyes” is the musical vision of Pete Townshend. / (Pen & ink, pencil and digital)

  • A bit lacking in mirrors but it’s still mod :) This was featured in the Retro Tees – We got the funk group in October 2008 and March 2009. It also came second in the ‘All in’ group challenge in April 2009 This was the first T I’ve bought on RB too – and I’m ‘VERY’ happy with the result (despite the fact my own bike relies on pedal power) This buyer’s booth pic was featured on the home page on 1 Dec 2008 (yay!) • This is Pete. He was left in a big wicker basket at the front door of our clinic. Overall he was in pretty good condition, just a little skin condition that has healed. He is ready for a forever home now, and we are hopeful as a family with several young children is interested in him. He has a very sweet personality and should do well.

  • 8.5” x 11” Graphite pencil drawing on paper. / Copyright 2009. David J. Vanderpool Here is a commissioned portrait drawing meant to be left unfinished. The hands were left as is since they were in motion while Pete was playing the guitar. This is a bit rough, in style than I usually do, but over all it’s a fair portrait.

  • Pencil, pen and ink on 90lb Bristol. A great example of a finished piece arriving out of a random sketch. One of my favorite exercises is to randomly throw some lines or shapes on paper. Sometimes I’m not even looking at the paper. I like to find images and pull them out of the random forms. I’m certain that there is some kind of sub-conscious exercise in this: I call it “combing my brain.”
