I did a set ‘A day in the life of a rose’ where I used one rose to see how creative I could be and turn it into different images, this is one of them. Along with ‘Purple Rain’
It was a cold & miserable weekend, made more bearable by taking flower shots.
A single drop of water. So small and overlooked. Yet heavy enough to leave an impression on a delicate rose petal. Our massive ecosystem, a fragile element of everyday life.

Red Tulips..Taken in my mums back garden, i kept the background nice and natural because i think everyone does flower shots with black or white/ plain backgrounds and this makes the image a little different
i feel you out there / here inside / always wide open / no place to hide / spirit / so true / can never / be wrong / sensing your passion / hearing its’ song / speak softly still / i am your will / your light / my fire / always burning / in purest / desire i am by butchart

Another trip out to the swarming of ladybirds that I have been reporting on at Mount Burr South Australia. This time we took them flowers!!!!!! The thousands I have posted on recently have dwindled to small groups of twenty to thirty and are slowly moving on. They climbed aboard our flowers which gave us opportunities to take some images a little different to those uploaded over the last few days. I promise the ladybirds shots will stop soon but they are just such brilliant works of nature that I can’t help keep going back whilst they are there. Canon 400D 18 – 55 lens with two stage extension tubes and speedlight.

I always think of my Pop when I see poppies. He was an awesome grandparent and loved to make us laugh. One of his tricks was to pretend to eat big fat snails straight out of the garden – horrifying and hilarious to a 5 year old!! He would have loved this garden that I visited in Bridgetown, so this is for Pop :))) (And he would have found a snail or two!)
